Capcom will collaborate with DmC studio Ninja Theory again

Vergil's downfall takes place before the events of DmC. If it were to take place after, it would be a huge spoiler to fans. Its an untold story of Vergil, so we don't know what made him look the way he does. DmC2 will most likely try to fill in the gaps of the ORIGINAL DMC. DMC4 and DMC2 is where all the questions are coming from, NT/CAP will take this opportunity to retell the events of DMC4 leading up to DMC2.

DMC 2 truly had no connection and DMC 4 had just loose connection and more unanswered questions as anything else.

That's why I don't get why people praised the story of the old DMC... I liked it... but only 1 and 3 cuz they were connected the most and nice to look.

2 and 4 were completely uninteresting for me... Even less if Dante had nothing as a side role in DMC4

DmC is still it's own universe and has no relation to the other games in terms of story. It's open season with alot of the previous elements.

God, I hope this is true. Capcom need better writers badly, and Ninja Theory need gameplay mechs desperately.

I thought I read somewhere Vergil's Downfall is set during the events of DmC. So maybe moments where Dante went off doing his own thing we'll see what Vergil is up to. But I think most the scenes we've been seening in the trailer are mostly after the events, although it's difficult to be sure.

its obvious it not canon to the original storyline, but the story of DmC is like a retold tale of DMC3 up to DMC1. This only my hypothesis, but it sounds very possible. It apparently has some relations to the original in terms of story, we wouldn't have been reintroduced to Mundus, Eva, Sparda, and Vergil if it didn't.
