Can Capcom still carry on the old story after this "D*C"

Don't say me that i have to wait for it like people are doing for ominusha now :( that is wrong look at kojima how he hasn't killed bigg boss yet okay he may have died in mgs 4 but he comes in every damn spinoff or prequel new ps vita game Mgs revengence hell solid snake himself isn't yet dead even though story is over kojima keeps on making game but capcom seems to be one greedy heartless company who just decides to reboot when dmc4 did 'okay' in sales and got a score of 8.0 everywhere NICE WAY TO INSULT YOU CONSUMERS AND FANS CAPCOM !!

and i couldn't reply my old thread because when i checked it was locked and i call him 'donte' just to separate him from 'dante' since he is drastically changed i can't even call him "dante 2" that would an insult to dante :cool:

I don't expect much from this game as it seems to have a broken combat and lame storytelling even though its early to judge but these trailers don't answer anything about the story or the combat i am still figuring out whether he has all the styles or it uses something from heavenly sword which isn't meant for "devil may cry"

The combat looked nice and Ninja Theory are praised for story and what is Cacpom.
but all in all atleast CoolDemon had valid points
 
I am asking about the old "dmc" series nothing about the new "D*C" i don't F***ing care about it just tell me if there is a possibility of a new dmc 5 (which is canon to the series and which would continue the sparda saga ) or i'll have to wait for another decade !


and my old thread was locked because it fulfilled its purpose explaining if it will have any connection to the old dmc series
 
yeah they will probably make a Canon number 5 but it will be probably another console generation since a quality game takes time to make
this game has been in the works for a while now (since 2009 i think) and i do not think you have a real reason to bash it
 
First: Calm down john! No need to get all angry and throw insults. It's just a game - an awesome one but still;)

Second: What you are asking is currently unknown. Not even Capcom knows. It will depend on how well DmC sells in the market. And even if it doesn't do well, that doesn't mean they will return to the original series. So all we can do is be patient and wait.
 
Hey, chill out, k? There's no official confirmation on DMC 5 right now but the hope is that once Capcom is done with DmC then they might start making noises about continuing the series. No one knows anything for certain just yet, as far as I know, but it seems highly unlikely to me that they are completely done with devil may cry just yet.

No, it doesn't mean anything in particular. As I said before, the future is still unknown to us. So the best thing is wait to see what'll happen with the new DmC. I don't think they abandoned the old Dante seeing as they put him and Vergil in UMvsC3 ;)
 
No, it means no one knows anything yet so whatever we put is pure speculation at this point in time. If DmC fails then they'll have some sort of board meeting, maybe with cake, and talk it over. If DmC does really well then they'll have some sort of board meeting, maybe with biscuits, and talk it over. Either way there will be internal discussion before a public announcement in either direction, one would presume.

And something nice and edible.

Yeah also do you know just now capcom has found out that Americans like megaman and it has established a good fanbase

Capcom might have that history, but Ninja Theory does not and they are the ones leading this project. So I don't think it will be cancelled, because the new Devil May Cry will help them gain some renown, be it negative or positive. If they just let this die out they will gain nothing, and then I am almost definately sure that Capcom will just forget all about Devil May Cry, just like they did with Onimusha.

Okay so Devil may cry's future depends on this ???? :eek: and if this is cancelled capcom would throw the series out of the window just becaue this didn't do well who wanted a reboot anyway i wanted a origin story explaining who the hell sparda is and how he became a legend think of a game taking place in hell fighting as full demon oh man !!

You are asking alot of questions that no one here knows. Only Capcom knows. You should as them instead. I can only say that I hope the new Devil May Cry will succeed, because to me it is still Devil May Cry and I don't want it to die out which I fear it will if this game does fail.

Not even Capcom knows. They will decide after DmC. After all right know they have their hands full with it. They have many other games to look after to, so after DmC is out and some time passes, THEN they will make any further plans for the series;)
 
The problem is Ninja theory are releasing it in the fall
(which is usually when most major game series come out with new games

Infact thats what happened with enslaved
They went up against Call of duty and castlevania and got Destroyed

Well, i think your old thread was locked because your question was already answered, according to the mod for this sub-forum.

i think DMC5 might still get made depending on sales but whether or not it's good or bad sales they havent specified. If this rebot bad sales, they might scrapp it entirely and restart with 5 but there is the possibility they might scrap the whole series. If the reboot does well, they might do 5 as a pity gesture or just forget 5 and continue on with the reboot.

I dont want both tho because one would feel redudant.

this game suffer from bad decisions from capcom and bad pr from capcom, overhyping it into something NT cant deliver.

I'm not so sure it will have a lame story.

I guess they could, but I don't think they will. Unless a game really succeeds all over, Capcom just drops the series. I miss Onimusha and I miss Megaman on a REAL platform, not all those side-game series to handhelds, though Megaman Zero would be cool if they re-made it into a console game in full HD 3D graphics, but keeping the 2D gameplay like the later Megaman X games with Axl. ^^
