Part of me hopes all the playable characters are bosses, but I also wonder if it's possible to make good boss battles out of each of them. I'd rather they just have one good one as opposed to four which are mediocre.
Well, if they all just use their own movesets (which look to be good, at the very least) then the boss battles themselves will probably end up being just as serviceable.

But yeah, I agree. Better to have one good Vergil boss battle than four so-so ones.

This is like the reverse of Dante's fight against Lady in DMC3.
Or a properly fight of Vergil vs Dante, not like that recolor in DMC3 Special Edition...The only boss "close" to a Vergil vs Dante was the Doppelganger.

There will actually be a proper Vergil vs Dante fight, check the news and updates thread. GregaMan said that on Twitter.

Yeah, I know, that's why I was saying that, I'm so hyped. Anyway, I would like a Nero vs Vergil, it would be really cool.

Well, since it was said that Vergil's story is set before DMC3, that wouldn't be possible, but yeah it would be cool.

Although... in the podcast, Greg actually mentioned something about Nero being a boss.

... WAIT. Really? OMG, with his Devil Bringer and his "Devil Trigger" with Yamato he would be a very interesting oponent. But I don't want to hit him...

I just want to fight Vergil as Nero but I don't object a Nero boss idea. This may be fun... :sneaky:

Greg said in a response on twitter that there would be no way to fight Vergil as Dante, so that likely confirms that either Nero is a boss, or he misspoke during the podcast.

UPDATE: Here's the tweet https:// twitter.com/fingersmaloy/status/580776035861409792

I had to put a space in the URL since the forum software insists on placing a malformed tweet media tag in there. Looks like he hasn't played Bloody Palace yet, but he hasn't heard anything about adding bosses. So perhaps he did misspeak during the podcast, or maybe he's just being coy.
