I mean sure, Skyrim's combat is hella basic and not the best at all, but even that is superior to Morrowind's. ANYTHING would be.

Skyrim is pretty hack & slash but I didn't mind it at all. The kill animations were decent and some mods made them more varied & upped the % chance of them happening so that could be improved too. Still never actually played my copy on PC & only played console version.

It's insane how much better Skyrim's combat becomes with the right mods.

Jesus CHRIST, age has made Morrowind practically unplayable with that bullshit combat system. Now, for me, the best element of the later Elder Scrolls games wasn't the combat, but the stealth. I LOVE playing the thief class.

That was the thing with Morrowind for me, I didn't play it when it released & actually got it for free AFTER I finished Skyrim. Going back to that style combat system was really jarring to say the least.
