...then I saw a video about this topic, and was pleasantly surprised to see that I was wrong and not a few people commenting the characters would look retarded in such outfits. Screw underwear over suits, scaled tights, and corny pointy masks indeed. u.u

I can't remember how many times you've made this point. I get that you don't like some of the costumes. And, some people do. Most of them would look silly in the movies, but there's lots of different designs they can go with for the characters. Don't see the point in complaining about it, really.

The point is try to shut down some people's closed mentality of "classic is better, period". Also, previously I thought I was in the minority so now I'm glad to know that's not the case.

Also, come on it's not totally subjective. Can you imagine the Winter Soldier movie, with its rather serious-toned plot about espionage and stuff, with Cap running around in scaled tights and well visible white wings on a mask instead of a helmet? You can't tell me that wouldn't look ridiculous.

I'm not arguing about it, I'm just saying. You've made this point more than once. And I personally don't care what others think. Because if that's how they feel, then fine. I already agreed that some costumes would look silly, so I don't understand the last point you made since I already agreed on that.

No no, the "come on" and "you" in the last post weren't directed at you, I used them in their general meaning. Eh, sometimes I can't translate my thoughts perfectly in English cause the way you express generalization is different from ours.

Cap, Falcon, Hawkeye...Thor too. They would look ridiculous in their classic outfits. And Black Panther has a cape in some adaptations, if I'm not mistaken. They would all look ridiculous. And I for one completely support Snyder's decision to remove Superman's underwear.

I know it rustled too many jimmies, but the no underwear choice was the best thing Snyder did to those character, right up there with Batman's modified voice. That being said, the color palette could have been lighter.

At the end of the day I have no quarrel with classic costumes being adapted into the silver screen, as long as they weren't too cheesy to start with.

At this point I think I will never understand how people can think trunks well visible over a suit looks good in live action instead of utterly laughable. Aside from the "it's classic" argument I mean, cause that's the one I always face.

I actually like the yellow and black look. The mask looks a bit stupid with the eyes, but if those were shorter then it'd be cool.

while i prefer a new version of costumes for a movie, it's actually all about the fabric/material.. spandex and foam is a no go, cept ofc it's for the women, i say stick to the comics!

I think in animation white eyes were implemented because of simplified eye drawing.
