  • it turned into a pile of **** 'cause every person who joined was a complete moron, they didn't even know proper English and they were from either the US or the UK.
SoS is dead. No-one is on there. Heck, I don't even know why Steven still has it. I mean, it's been at 75% for ages now and to be honest, DMC these days is pile of rubbish.
So, when it comes to the well-being of the planet you overlook everything... convenient. If you believe that Mars or any other planet that we know of could possibly host the prerequisites for human life, well, let me break it down slowly: Not...Bloody...Likely. You see, whilst religion can provide something of a shelter from the harsh realities of the physical world, those of us keeping our feet firmly in the realm of the real know that cutting down on the damage being done at present is the only way to prevent or at least postpone a very bleak world for posterity.
"God will bring to ruin those who ruin the Earth." I'm sorry to stereotype, but you live in America, the land of the anti-eco warriors. I don't smoke, I recycle everything possible and I walk nearly everywhere I have to and yet I still pollute the Earth occasionally. If you tell me that you don't, I'm afraid I can't believe you. basically, that statement means the whole developed world. Anyway, this argument is really starting to give me a headache. Fact is: you are not going to convert me. Once I've made up my mind about something I'm as stubborn as they come.
As it is, yes, I listen to Phil Ochs, Pete Seeger and others who seemed to have quite a grip of the situation of the western world and America in particular. Do me a favour and look up the Pareto Principle and let me know if any 1st world country that you know of is doing something about the 80/ 20 divide. Consider where you are, the U.S. and where I am, the U.K. Both are predominantly Christian countries yet, for all their wealth there are still people starving and the quite frankly expected lack of the U.S.'s support in lowering carbon emissions is sending our planet straight to the closest equivelant of hell you could imagine in the manifest. I know that China emmits more overall, but it works out considerably less per person.
At least have the decency to browse a reliable dictionary before you come claiming to know all the answers. Even if what you say is true, then language has confounded the Bible's ability to stand the test of time. I guess, to be fair, though, it does encourage some altruistic notions, conveniently, the very messages forgot by a lot of Christians as they go dangerously close to Communism or some such malarky.
You must not be doing your reading very well. It says that the master cannot beat the slave to death, if he does, there's a penalty, but so long as the slave can walk the following day. Secondly, the whole "Well God can do anything." argument is both horribly cliched and furthermore untrue. It says that God cannot tell a lie, which seems to me like quite a trifle thing to not be able to manage, plus proving contradictory to his claim of omnipotence, therefore sounding like one of the tall tales told by patients with Munchausen's disease.Just keep your eye open for such plot holes. Furthermore, wouldn't it have been an idea to keep humans unified rather than wait until there are more religions than stars in the Milky Way to attest to His existence. I know I'm exaggerating but you get the point. Also slavery is never of one's own volition or it wouldn't have been translated as 'slavery'.
