New characters for DMC6

Rereading the behind scenes stuff @Picard and @BlackAngel posted, I'd say the mistake they made was settling on making Nero like DMC3 Dante. I might've preffered the "nobleman detective" angle. Like a young Sherlock Holmes ie.
It would've helped him standout more than he did initially. Granted I have more affinty for sherlock holmes than BLEACH so it's my own bias at work.

It's easier to write him off as Dante-lite because the game doesn't really explore what seperates them beyond the surface. If he's suppose to be an outcast or really only care about Kyrie, those are things the story should explore or challenge more thoroughly. He's not that interesting or believable as a cynical tough guy. In 5 he improves after the second Urizen fight because he drops the tough guy act and becomes more sincere. So either make him a goofball like Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho or lean into the surliness like Shinjiro from Persona 3.

Making Kyrie playable could help with the love story angle. Most video game love stories tend to work when both characters are controllable. So handling their relationship like this fanfic could be interesting. Ed and Orihime works better because they play off each other well and challenge each other from time to time. I actually wish Orihime was written this well in Bleach.

Her becoming a villian is a cool but hard to do with what we have. Someone like NiCo from Dead or Alive 6 would be more fitting. She works for the bad guys because she wants to ressurect her father. It's an interesting more dilemma for Nero and Kyrie to face together.

Nero disappointed me for some reason. I had a lot of fun coming up with alternate versions of him. You can scrap the Nero connection and retool them as seperate characters.

I was a fan of Legoshi from BEASTARS. He's a kindhearted introvert dealing with a lot of internal issues. Plus he's a wolf who uses martial arts. Both would be fun to play around with.

I was actually thinking about how to potentially adapt Nero into DmC2, but since DMC6 seems more likely I guess this idea can be tweaked for that instead.

Inspired by the Sci-Fi novel "The Midwich Cuckoos", the character is a demon that was unknowingly raised by ignorant humans in the same way that a cuckoo puts its eggs in the nest of other bird species for them to raise. Unaware of his true nature, the boy lives his life as a normal human (albeit an unusually strong one), until the events of DMC5 occurred which revealed the existence of demons to the world and the boy - now a young man is being eyed suspiciously by his fellow townsfolk who question his abilities and during an intense confrontation the man's demonic nature accidently surfaces and he injures some of the townsfolk before being chased out. The man drifts from place to place seeking food and shelter whilst being pursued by demon hunters. Eventually Nero catches wind of this and investigates and tries to persuade the man not to use his powers for evil whilst said man is also being pulled to the dark side by the new villain.

A rough idea, but could work.

One thing I want for DMC6 is the introduction of more cambion hybrids as the idea of Dante, Vergil, and Nero being the hybrids in existence just seems really hard to believe.

I was a fan of Marvel Loki's recent attempts at being a good guy. Above is him as both an kid and an adult. So a trickster protagonist could be fun.

@Ronin once tried to use the Yugioh franchise as a template so you could mix this idea with one of those characters. Outside of Yusei from 5Ds they are all kids or pretty young. So this could be them as an adult and you could play with both versions.

Having Yugi grow up to be a trickster antihero like Loki could be interesting to see.

The early issues of YuGiOH are no joke. Yami ain't playing around and was more of an arrogant thrillseeker.

So having a well meaning kid get superpowers but grow up to be a less than stellar adult is an out there choice but I'm curious about it.

You could write in Lady and Trish as potential mentors.

This also work with Vijay- one of my other OCs.

I like it so far.

But surely, there must be a way to introduce someone like that in a way like Giorno Giovanna.

Sorry, I just see the Joestar line in the Sparda line in some ways. Same with the Belmont clan & Les Enfants Terrible.

Of course Nero reminds me of Josuke in some way.

I mean, I can't stand Giorno personally so you won't be getting any help from me.

Giorno is just a gangster with supernatural powers. So just make a gangster with supernatural powers.

Make an OC whose the heir to a crime syndicate. He decides to hunt demons as a potential market to exploit. Or he just decided to start his own gang and they decided to do a protection racket. They hunt demons for a price.

Is that what you're looking for?

I like it! Perhaps a mafia or yakuza-type of group? Or something "pimp" like Superfly!

Okay, here's how I'll picture the character based on your idea and mine. As he can be a friendly rival of sorts.

As Nero is a punk, the new character who I'll name "Caligula" is a pimp, yet a Sherlock Holmes-type of hunter.

He'll run a gangster group who he managed to takeover to hunt down demons through business means. Caligula could be born from another family outside the Sparda line, as if another demon like Sparda gave birth to his/her own legacy. Nero wouldn't take lightly with him due to the attitude he has and his role as a hunter.

Lol that's fine.

@Lain
So this character's parents abandon them out of tradition?

Considering the biological parents are demons, I was thinking something more akin to "Obligate Parasitism" to where they as a species specialise in Brood Mimicry and have their offspring infiltrate the communities of their prey to act as sleeper agents and upon maturation awaken their demonic instincts in order to secure a safe source of food for the demons.

But you could pull a Son Goku and have the character bang his head so that the imprinted orders stay dormant and he continues to live as a human until the events of the plot.

I'm just hoping Capcom creates someone as cool and interesting as Trafalgar Law.

That would be great to manipulate everything in an environment around you to your advantage in battle. But change the weapon so that we don't have anything too similar of Vergil. Any type of sword no one has done yet.

@Ronin
Patty could serve that role with a few tweaks.

Nero and Kyrie are looking after 3 orphans in the Before the Nightmare novel. So it's not a leap for them to have their own kid one day.

That's true. But I meant like later on in the future.

And I doubt Patty would be worth anything... yet.
It's a longshot but the setup is there. In hindsight Patty could've been a stronger character if she had powers from the start. At the very least, it would give Dante a stronger reason to keep her around. So better late than never.

Dante could just have a illegitimate daughter out there but that could be a case of diminishing returns. But they could always learn from their mistakes with Nero...;).

Dante will never have children.
But i think Nero will have Children , because Bingo likes Nero a lot and he likes to write for him.

I hope a daughter in Nero’s family.

Anyone have thoughts on how to make a “Giorno Giovanna” character in DMC as Nero represents himself as “Josuke Higashikata”?

something fresh to join Nero and the Sparda twins next game!

Either a new character born from Mundus’ genes or another powerful demon who’ll takeover the throne.
