If it's Dragon's Dogma 2 then it immediately shoots down what Capcom said about the 2 million copies or nothing because Dragon's Dogma only sold 1.3 million as far as I know.
Stating they're not gonna make sequels to under selling games then immediately makes a sequel to an under selling game is just stupid.
DMC5 however would make sense as we all know how well DMC4 did sales wise, so if he is making one of them it's likely to be DMC5.
It'll suck anyway, I can guarantee that if it happens it'll just be another casual show and tell using classic Dante as a marketing tool.

If it's either one, their statement about games needing to have sold two million copies was nonsense. Remember, Dragon's Dogma sold 1.3 million. DmC is still considered part of the Devil May Cry franchise, and it sold... what was it... 1.1 within the sales deadline?
So they've either abandoned their new policy, or they meant that new IPs would have to sell by two million before they'd think about making sequels to them.
As for the meaning of Itsuno's message, it could be that he's just being polite; the Japanese take politeness to extremes sometimes. After all, why would you put ''please'' before ''expect it'' if it's a done deal? He could just be saying that he wants people to remain positive - and why wouldn't he? He doesn't want his customers to get upset, and he wants them to come back for more.

I still haven't warmed up to that idea. I wouldn't want to have to pay just to be able to play the game. When they created the first Dragon's Dogma (an offline game with online features), people got the expectation that DD2 would be an offline game too. If DD2 is fully online like an MMORPG, then they've betrayed the people who loved DD1, because they weren't waiting for a competitive social game.
If they wanted DD to be online, they should've made DD1 online in the first place. At least that way they wouldn't p*ss off so many people: to them, Dragon's Dogma is dead. They won't get the chance to play DD2, even though DD1 made them expect that they would. At least if DD were online in the first place, people could look for different games and not get attached to it.

Personally i think it's terrible idea. Why involve so many time on Singleplayer with online only to make raw mp game. That doesn't makes sense. But well. Big suits at Capcom don't care about it.

Yeah, they don't seem to care about the fact that they're making a product, and that it should appeal to a certain market. It's like if a company made coffeemakers because people wanted them, then suddenly decided to drop it and make blenders... lel. Not what we asked for.

Yeah, it's difficult to interpret which one Itsuno was referring to in his reply, but it's also possible (as has been said) that he was just being polite and hopeful, himself.
If he was referring to DMC5, however--well, I'll wait until I see official info pertaining to it. Credible sources are so hard to come by, these days. O_O

I just want a co-op Dragon's Dogma T_T It's so silly that the game had so many co-op actions you could do with your party, but it was so unreliable. Also wouldn't mind a better healing system...
