So, it seems there is a lot of clashing arguments over kamiya producing the next game. So, I made this thread to discuss why and why not should he produce the next game?

I say yes, but only if they can get the rest of the band together. John might be good but without Paul, Ringo, and George it's just not the Beatles.

I think it is getting out of hand. It's a subject that gets brought up in every thread remotely regarding development. The first time it happened I think I defended it by saying that a dedicated discussion thread about the subject didn't exist so it it was better than having people bring it up so oft.
It seems that this still weighs on people's minds, though, as the subject has come up on more than one occasion and people are still responding to it with intent and drive. We certainly seem opinionated about the prospect.
Waiving the pros and cons isn't so much the drive of the discution half the time, ether. It's usually how people feel about the man himself or Bayonetta personally and not his capacity to create the game.
I'm not for or against Kamiya; if another Devil May Cry game is made (of the classic series), the only thing I care is that it's done well.
Of course, this is subjective; if I and others find it enjoyable, there are bound to be many others who don't, and vice versa.
I'm not about to hold anything against either Itsuno or Kamiya for any "flops" they've done, nor am I going to use any of their successes as the basis for being for one or the other; I just want an awesome game I can enjoy.

Would you settle for one of Kamiya and Kobayashi (Producer of DMC1 and 4)? Because that one exists.
I'm neutral as I liked Bayonetta as a game but I'm not a fan of Bayonetta story-wise so that's my only real complaint but you could have someone do the story with him like the author of the light novels or the artist of the light novels(who became the Manga-ka of DOGS BULLETS AND CARNAGE).
Chances are he probably wouldnt deal with a lot of the unanswered questions but that could be alright tho given the new stuff he does (maybe new characters) is interesting.
Kamiya is probably the ace in the hole and his anouncement would draw up fan support and word of mouth buzz but im not sure it would sell anymore than DMC already has.

That guy is still a writer. The author of DOGS is the man who did the illustrations for the light novel, he didn't write it though.
But what you are saying, that is the reason I think that it would be best for the hypothetical game if Kamiya got 'the rest of the band' together, because while Kamiya has the gamepla, Mikami has that bravado to his characters and knows how to make a great atmosphere for a horror survival game that went away after the first game.
You would think for the purposes of this that that option would simply go under the 'well, then, just don't vote' category, but if you think about it it provably does matter just as much if people don't care ether way for it since it would affect all DMC fans, even the ones who couldn't care less.
I was trying to say that, I should have made it clearer, my bad. :facepalm: What I meant as that you could probably get both or one if the other cant do it.
I guess the only problem with getting the band back together is scheduling because they might not have time to come back and desire because they may have things lined up that they are more into.
