Well okay, I don't go by the label of Satan. But if I had to pick a side, I wouldn't be with the guy who punished his kids for eternity because they were stupid and ate an apple.

I'd resort to using the Death Note only if all the toiletpaper in my house ran out.

I'd get rid of the Death Note. One page at a time.

Criminals?

Some criminals don't know any better. Some criminals were once good people who went off on the wrong track.

Celebrities that messed up?

Ah...the celebrity culture... you should check out the essay Jack Gleeson wrote and read on youtube. Very interesting.

Corrupted politicians?

Why kill when you can overthrow instead? Only wimps take the easy way.

Those who hurt Christians?

Will have to answer to God. Christians don't need to do anything about being persecuted or hated on. God is the ultimate judge.

Satanists?

Are trapped in a never ending cycle of karma. What you sow, you will reap, over and over.

I wouldn't use it at all. It's not my right to decide. Besides, I know I would regret killing a person and couldn't live with myself for doing that.

The whole moral of Death Note was about issues like who gets to decide life and death; and how using a death note only creates sadness and misery; and that even people who think they are using the note for altruistic purposes become just as bad as the criminals they kill.

Being raised Christian, I always struggle with that. If God gave humans free will, is omniscient and omnipotent, then
god knew that humans would eat the apple. Therefore, god created humanity knowing they would fail and sin and then be cast out to suffer sickness, old age and death. But why? As a test, suffering= redemption; without sin humanity will never know god's forgiveness?

Then I wonder what kind of god would deny their creations the chance to learn by forbidding fruit from the tree of knowledge? Was god scared of humans gaining knowledge and turning away from worship? Anyway, I'm going off at a tangent.

I would destroy it.

I'd do the same. Either destroy it or return it to the shinigami who dropped it. That kind of power is too dangerous for humans.

Probably because media "stereotype" Satanists hold Black Masses over date rape victims they then kill and drink the blood of for lulz and eternal youth? We totally all do that. I do it every Sunday at the crotchet meet. Better than Nivea, let me tell you.

i knew it was a bad idea to even have.

if i had it right in front of me i don't doubt i would think of a way to use it though, i'd probably find interesting and creative ways to use it.

Well i don't think it's like you think, it could be worse. It could be a nightmare.
Your soul could be forever in Purgatory.
You could be forever undead.
You could re-live your own death forever.
You could forever re-live the deaths of those you judged & wrote their names in the DeathNote.

Ryuk never said where your soul goes, only that it's forfeited the moment you write the first name in the book.

According to this death note quote from Japan they go to Mu or sort of become it, regardless of using a death note or not. It applies to all humans after death, even holders of death notes : 死んだ後にいくところ、無である。Shin da nochi ni iku tokoro Mu de aru. It is said that the place after death is Mu.

Mu is a state of nothingness. So I guess that is what happened to Light. I don't know if that would be a punishment or not if Light was unaware. Light wouldn't even be Light if he didn't exist.

I'm going by the anime, & it doesn't say where your soul goes so i imagine it's horrible.

In the Japanese dub, Ryuk says that Light will go to/ become Mu. I guess saying that a person goes to neither heaven or hell was the best English approximation for a word like Mu. It can't easily be explained unless there is understanding of the language/ culture of word origin.
