Calling all fans who didn't like DmC.

Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
I'm gonna need a little help with something.

See I've decided to make a fanfiction where a DMC fan goes into the DmC world. So I was wondering if you guys could help me out. Y'see the gamer despises DmC greatly and would usually call Dante Donte. I want you guys to tell me all the things you didn't like about DmC, so that I can get a good basis on the character.

no flaming, no fighting, just opinions.

i wish you luck with this, i don't think it will go off without any friction.

anyway, are you asking for gameplay and story or just story critique?

I would recommend you avoid using the typical excuses that pro's use to describe the haters dislike for the game (New design, F**K YOU) it would seem sort of used up and near sighted I guess. Focus more on peoples issues with story, gameplay and some of the things said and done by NT and Capcom (mostly Capcom). I would get into more detail as to why I dislike the game but it's pretty late and I just got done with a hand full of assignments.

Ok here's mine....

I hate Donte because he looks like an ass, dresses like an ass, talks like an ass, acts like an ass and fights like an asses ass.
He's an insult to the awesome, fun Dante who didn't give a damn and just wanted to have fun.

I hate Kat because she's just boring, no fun to watch and no fun to listen to.
The ladies in my action games are to either kick ass and look good while doing it or bugger off cause I don't wanna hear them talk, whine and cry the whole bloody game.

I hate Virgin all because of that stupid bigger d**k line, Vergil in DMC3 was badass, now his only memorable moments are his baby killing and d**k bragging?

Now the gameplay is what I hate the most about DmC.
In past DMC games (1, 3 & 4) I was always taking my time and learning the many moves so I could use them in more challenging battles, in DmC they're just handed out so easily that the learning curve is gone, all battles are easy and motivation to continue playing is just gone, dodge moves are now their own buttons and even launch is it's own button rather than an actual move, staying in the air in past games was a skillful and rewarding challenge, but in DmC it's so insultingly easy that the game seems broken half the time.
Since the game was SO easy, even on the hardest default mode, all it took for me was patience to bring down the bigger enemies with big health bars, no skill, no tactics, just patience.
Boss battles are the worst parts, again, in past games they served as the most entertaining and challenging parts as they behaved like normal enemies but with a s**tload more moves, forcing me to use the skills I learned the best of my ability, in DmC they are dumbed down in the most dull and cliche manner possible, only requiring a certain criteria be meet until you can hack off at them with no skill required, not to mention the cutscenes that break the flow of the boss battle.

The story, acting, writing and graphics didn't bother me at all because I never gave a flying f**k, I'm no story hound.

That's my hatred of DmC! :)

Lets see hmmmmmmm....
DmC Dante's personality and the obnoxious slur he has in his voice.(The strippers at the beginning of the game didn't help his case with his character)
The Gameplay isn't in depth and feels like everything is handed on a silver platter without taking the time to actually learn new techniques and knowing that you can do more with him. Its also to forgiving in terms of combat, enemy AI, rating, and difficulty.
The characters seem one dimensional and almost dull.
The story seem to have plotholes at the very start.

And that some I can name off the top of my head without going in depth.

I'm afraid this fanfic may make a fool out of people who dislike DmC, regardless of their reasons for disliking it. No doubt legitimate concerns will not be considered, such as how the gameplay is less appealing/works less well and the writing and characters are subpar. Therefore, I'm not going to help out with this unless I somehow get confirmation that this isn't something done out of spite (even though you wrote that flaming will not be accepted). I want to ask you: are you going to single out the least valid/most subjective arguments or will you look at facts? I just want to know whether this is going to be a serious thing or if it's going to demean people who didn't like DmC.

Of course not.

The reason I'm asking is because for a while now, I've always wanted to do a fanfic where someone goes into a game. For a while now, I've always wanted to write a fanfic of someone going into DmC who doesn't like DmC as a means of seeing how they would react between playing a game, and living that said game. Would their perception of the game itself coincide with how they feel about each character and the actual situations they're in? Would they look at it in a different perspective or will they continue to see in such a way? Would Dante still be an ass if he saved you from almost being crushed to death? And would people still hate Kat if she was there to help you when you felt your most vulnerable? Would Vergil seem as evil as first thought to be if we actually talked to him one-on-one?

These are just a few things I'd like to tap into for this fanfiction; Is what we play the same as what we would perceive if we actually jumped into the game ourselves? Even if we like DmC, would we have a different mind set on living it as oppose to playing it? There's also the journey of the person jumping into the game itself that will test his or her (thinking about changing the gender) nerves in going through Limbo. I wanted to go for first person to get in detail on how the character reacts and what he/she would say in these situations; would all their anger on Dante come out at him? how would he react to it? If we criticized everything of DmC, would we have the reaction we expected, or would we be shocked by it?

Thus, why I wanted a character and narrator who disliked DmC from the beginning. If I chose him/her as a person who likes DmC, it would be a bit boring and pretty predictable, so I thought I'd challenge myself a bit.

This fanfic is not for hate, but rather a little challenge for myself.

I would have helped you if it wasn't for that there is nothing to help you with. It's not the character itself that makes me dislike it, its what reboot stands for and what Tameem said.
Plus if you take into account the gameplay isn't anything to brag about...you have a game to hate by many.

And if we play out a fiction, then we can also play out my fiction that i made, where Dante reboots capcom employees.

Noone would like to be cloned (future problem i bet!).
And Dante being attempted replaced by NTDante is similar to cloning. Plus NTDante was created by a guy who doesnt think to well of him...
i dont think Dante would like that.

"Sure go ahead and steal my identity!".

Which "Fun" Dante are you talking about ? Kamiya's Dante or DMC 3's frat boy dante or DMC 4's midlife crisis dante or DMC 2's dreadfully silent dante ?

I'm talking about the awesome 3 & 4 Dantes, the Dantes that made the franchise worth a damn after DMC2.

dmc4 Dante was in my opinion a good representation of Dante. The thing that made him look bad was the clothes.
Other than that i think he was really awesome.
Lady: The story goes that Sparda served as the feudal lord at the city long ago. The people who live there today take these legends as truth and worship him. Just like a god.

Dante: They worship a demon as a god?

Lady: Peaceful worship can’t be condemned. But the real problem is the Order. Lately they’ve been running amok, catching demons and have even butted in on some of my jobs.

Dante: Hmm, maybe they’re starting a zoo.

Lady: Not just demons. They’ve also been targeting devil arms, like the ones you have.

Dante: Okay then, a museum. So what?

Lady: Well, what if their intentions are foul and there’s a diabolical plan behind these apparently random acts?

Dante: Well then, I’ve got something to keep me occupied and… Trish.

Lol at the last part :D

He prolly doesnt like NTDante because he's a Dante fan. Notice he calls NTDante for Donte.

Donte/Dino/Etnad/NotDante
are all names to show people that NTDante is not Dante.

So i really dont think Wesker has a problem with people who are like NTDante. Its like i said in my first post, its not about the character...its about what it stands for.

P.S I try to be less of a douche and call Donte for NTDante. It's very appropriate term too.

Kind of, everyday I see all these people walking around with their hoodies, looking like crack heads, all their shoes untied, shirts out, pants low, dirty tank tops, smoking and so on, also talking and acting like they're cool, I hate that kind of style.
Still I mean no offense to anyone that does like that style, I'm not calling them asses, just the style, I hate it.
