Shouldn't we DMC fans be grateful about DmC instead of acting like it was something unwanted?

I think DMC 4 story could been much better. It was far to simple of "Save Kyrie". It didn´t shed more light on why Nero feels the way he feels about Kyrie and vice versa.
This scene right here is pretty nice in my opinion, way i interpret it is :

Kyrie understands Nero failed to save him, but she still forgives him of his failure.

And fact Kyrie is the one singing a song with a lyric like this:
Listen to my voice calling you,
Pulling you out of darkness.
Hear the devil's cry of sin,
Always turn your back on him.

Sounds like Nero was on a bad path before his arm changed.
And Kyrie was the one pulling him out of the darkness.

I believe the voice actor of Nero said it was his favorite scene btw.

According to Deadly Fortune, Nero became lost his faith in god after a Bianco Angelo experiment killed Kyrie and Credo's parents and that Kyrie was the only thing keeping Nero going. Since Fortuna was a tightly knit community, everyone knew that Nero's mother was a prostitute.

I believe that we can fully understand why characters get that emotional when we go through or know someone that goes through somewhat similar experiences. It's easy to act tough and limit the display of our emotions because quite frankly, most of us have never found the right situation. Just my two cents here.

I beg to differ that's an accurate description of the post you just made.
=.

really now?

At least I was considerate enough to the fans of the new series with my post by pointing out that its ok for fans to like both with this part of my post,

Bottom line is fans all do not think the same, its not right to fault a certain group of fans simply because they did not like the reboot. I gave it a fair chance and enjoyed it, but still would much rather have the original series make a return.

Now how am I coming off as inconsiderate and full of myself again?

and Its pretty obvious that I was by no means defending DMC4 in the slightest, so why even bring that up when replying to me?

It's understandable now why I would rather have NT Dante over Nero. Nero may be a great guy and all, but him being emotional (even more so than NT Dante) is my problem with him...

I understand that. Sometimes we want a character that can embody our ideal of cool, that can show their vulnerabilities without wearing them on their sleeve and I can see that NT Dante can be that character for some people and I can respect that.

I appreciate that some responses may be aggravating but it is always best to remain civil and be the bigger person. That way, any potential trolls just look foolish and also means the staff can easily tell who is trying to be difficult.

With a thread title and OP written as it has been here, you are also going to have to expect a little backlash from those who do not agree with you. If and when it gets personal, you should hit report rather than responding in kind. This goes for EVERYONE here, by the way.

That's just how you wanna see it i just see it as an unworthy addition which leeches on DMC 3's success.
>It seems like a pretty human thing to do
No that's a pretty cliched thing and shouldn't be the central plot of the game.

''That's how I wanna see it?'' That's not a very convincing rebuttal of what I said, but alright then. However, I still don't see what DMC4 has to do with being grateful for DmC, as you haven't explained aside from saying DMC4 was not a great game. Neither was DMC2, but we didn't get a reboot/reimagining after that one. :/

I fail to see how Nero saying Kyrie's name out loud a few times is ''the central plot of the game''. The plot is the defeat of Sanctus and the destruction of the Order of the Sword, along with Nero's development to being more demonic. Kyrie sort of acts like his conscience in this, not as a love interest per se. His yelling 'Kyrie' a few times is just something he does. I get that his relationship with Kyrie isn't exactly deep, but why would you try to show that by posting a video of how many times Nero shouts 'Kyrie'? A few shouts doesn't make it a terrible game. Otherwise, Skyrim would be the worst game ever :troll:

What can i do about these accusations of being "too inconsiderate" and an "ABC hater" for merely criticizing/mocking a game ?
Leonardo-DiCaprio-Shrug-Reaction-Gif.gif

Thats the thing, your mocking a game or series that many fans on this site still enjoy.

Your failing to be considerate to their feelings by doing so so yes that does make you inconsiderate towards those group of fans.

I'm not just calling you that for the heck of it, just calling it how I see it is all.

topics are here to discuss these kinds of things in a civil manner, i'm open to have a actual discussion with you concerning the topic at hand as opposed to the hostility you have been showing because of my reply.

This is something we can argue for centuries over but as end result no DMC fans really shouldn't be grateful as the end result could mean no more Devil May Cry as a result........however we should be grateful if something positive comes out of this such as Capcom making a DMC5 that uses the positives from DmC to make it better or a making a DmC2 (or any DMC game really) that is basically what fans really wanted in a new DMC game.

I own DMC 4 for and have beaten all the modes and i still can see that DMC 4 has flaws.. and i'm not gonna pretend like it is perfect.

Come on ! some people still use "Dino" suffixes me mocking DMC 4's bad story doesn't mean anything that extreme..

what's the deal with DMC 2 ? anyway i said the story was a big mess after DMC 4 and not to mention the continuity is something like this :-

> DMC 3
*Dante is inuyasha
> DMC 1
*dante is dante again
>DMC anime
*Dante is kinda like DMC 1 dante ?
> DMC Anime/4
*Dante is again inuyasha again ?
*Nero is sparda's relative ?
*Dante is just in the story because just for the sake of it
DMC2
*Something happened again and Dante is a depressed mute !?

this much inconsistency is bound to happen when you retcon a game and then release another prequel a reboot is the easiest way to fix all the story problems and character inconsistencies.

MY Point:We should stop saying "DmC was unwanted" when it was kinda inevitable.

>I fail to see how Nero saying Kyrie's name out loud a few times is ''the central plot of the game
hey that was THE plot of the game ! nero chasing kyrie and yelling her name..over and over like a melodramatic idiot.
>The plot is the defeat of Sanctus and the destruction of the Order of the Sword
That's like 10% of the story 90% of story was mostly about nero&kyrie yelling at each other staring at each and boring romantic cliched stuff.
>but why would you try to show that by posting a video of how many times Nero shouts 'Kyrie'?
That sets the whole tone of the game.... that is the central plot nero chasing kyrie and dante just being a d!ck.
>A few shouts doesn't make it a terrible game
I never said DMC 4 was "Terrible" it just isn't a good game from a story standpoint and the characters are obnoxious at best except for credo.. because he was the only character who wasn't having melodramatic seizures.

.

So your trying to defend your attitude by pointing out others have hostile attitudes towards the reboot so its ok?

As Angel pointed out earlier, you replying negatively and rudely will not solve or make anything better.

being civil and mature is the key here.

that said, I'm not defending those guys who call DmC Dante "Dino", but as the old saying goes, "two wrongs do not make a right" *i know, corny right, but a accurate term for this situation*

And I'm not saying its all that extreme or a big deal, I gave my opinion on how your post was conveyed that is all, your the one making a big deal out of it.

I don't think its to much to ask that someone be more considerate when they critic the game and try to see it from the point of view of the fans that actually enjoyed DMC4.

@ ROCKMAN

Yeah, but the point is not to trash talk it,just as the rest stopped hating on DmC on this forum in a rude manner, everyone should do the same.

You do know we had some difficulties in a having conversations in the past too...yet we got over it,let's not repeat these with other members too...let's keep it civil because not everytime we're RIGHT about everything..others may have their truth said too.

I enjoyed DMC 4.. it has the most refined gameplay in the old DMC series but geez its story is bad.. like someone pointed out
mqdefault.jpg

Hey, no arguments here, the only saving grace for DMC4 in my eyes was the gameplay which I think was the best out of the series.

Everything else about the game I did not like from tedious backtracking, storyline, Dante being reduced to a secondary character, and the list goes on.
