Personally im not sold on the look but looks can change in development & most consoles arent that pretty to begin with. For those afraid that not enough games were shown, E3 will be the games show, both Sony & Microsoft merely unveiled the console itself (though Sony didnt show their actual console yet) which is why so few games were actually shown.

Some things about both consoles I thought sounded really good (specs & some features) but other things have me very cautious. Im not bothered about backwards compatibility, if I want to play 360 games I already have a 360 to do it on. I want a new generation of games, not the same ones re-released or developers wasting time getting old games to run right on new tech. Had too many issues with old games running right on new consoles/windows versions without issues in the past to want the same again. However there are some features/restrictions that havent been fully explained that have me scratching my head. Such as used games experience not being explained fully, the fact live tv will only be a proper feature in US, the checking in online once a day, needing Kinect to run (though they do come with it I dont want a camera in my bedroom thats never truly being turned off . I cant see me leaping from this generation to the next as soon as they are released, I will likely wait until end of next year when the gaming catalogues start filling up & these features are clearer.

So currently im not really any more tempted towards either new console, im more cautious than anything & want to hear more info. All both companies have done is make me wish I had a gaming PC again so far. The name isnt as big deal to me as others have made it either as ive heard people talking about phones with 'One' in the name a lot (HTC One for example).

Sounds like a good idea. Wait and see the critics after some time and what kind of games that's gonna be released on it. I wonder how PS4 is going to look like. No backwards support there either. Of what I heard pretty much everything is going to work online. More cloud stores maybe? For save files and everything I suppose.

All i got from the conference is "This is how we plan on boring you today" Not a damn thing they showed or talked about won me over, same with PS4 and i highly doubt any of the games they EVENTUALLY show off will do anything to help either.

Everything i've seen and heard regarding the "next generation of consoles" doesn't make me feel like it's a next generation, it's just the same consoles with Facebook. That's all.

Pretty underwhelming. I'm a gamer, I don't even watch TV and gimmicks like voice control and cameras are not interesting to me. Everything's moving toward some drip-fed monetization rather than paying a flat fee for something you physically own, and I don't like it. Looks like it's going to be fairly expensive too. The idea of compulsory online is bad, although the message this time is that it won't be? Whereas before it was a given? I don't know. I don't really care, as I don't have the money for it anyway.

This got my attention. I am not too positive about future gaming either...

It's not just games but even Adobe are saying they want people to pay monthly to use Photoshop and other programs. The amount they were quoting would put me out of business, I can't afford monthly bills to use these things.

Yeah R.I.P gaming industry as they were in 1990+

I don't like the new name it's just stupid should have called it xbox infinity at least that sounds kinda cool....

Yeah the name is a big issue for me also. I had no quarrels with XBOX or XBOX 360. The name XBOX One thought just sounds like they really couldn't be bothered to think of anything better.

XBOX 720 even sounds better at this point.

Playstation consoles have never had lame names in my opinion.

Supposedly "One" is because it incorporates many functions all into one 'entertainment system'. I wouldn't say the name or the look (though it isn't very aesthetically pleasing for a console) should matter, but obviously it does.

I have thought of some names and I come back with these...

X B O X (Spaces make ALL the difference)
XBOX 360+1
XBOX 720
XBOX VCR
XBOX 3 (Because in theory XBOX One isn't the first XBOX console they've made)
XBOX BOX EDITION
XBOX 180
XBOX 45 Degree Angle
XBOX Rekinect
XBOX To Infinity And Beyond!
X P.O BOX
XBOX X

Feedback welcome

so far things seem to be going as i expected Sony remembered that PlayStation is a brand of game console in time for the PS4 but added in social features because everything has to be social now. while Microsoft continues the last generation's trend of treating the actual game part of the console as an extra feature. the only real surprise is the name Xbox One, everyone was expecting it to be the Xbox 720.

I'm not really keen on the look of the new XBOX either. I mean it looks like exactly what the name is, a box. It's quite unappealing to me to be honest. In terms of the controller I actually like it quite a lot though. However my only criticism with the controller is that the 'XBOX' button shouldn't of been moved to the top of the controller. I think it works better being left in the middle of the controller for easier access.

Why couldn't they just do what Sony does...call the Xbox360 the 'Xbox2' instead. And this new xbox the 'xbox3'. It makes more sense than xbox, xbox360 and Xbox one.

As for names for his console 'hex-box' because it seems cursed:P Or the 'heck-box' seeing as I've seen some forums saying the makers of this console should go to hell...a little extreme I guess.
