I LOL'd on your 'Illuminati' crap of yours. It seems you have total blind fanboy rage. Your thinking is just the same as the Youtube people. In other words, a TROLL post.

Also, some of you never watched 'The Matrix, 'They Live' and 'V for Vendetta' which DmC are mostly inspired from. So don't get me on your 'Illuminati' crap because what you're doing is adding fuel to the fire. Worse, it's showing your stupidity.

Also, DmC's storytelling is more like a better paced one. Come on, I like DMC3's plot but it's more like anime-ish. And I never understood everything you've said. :p

I'm pretty sure that was his point; namely that DmC doesn't try anything original. It even comes up with a very hackneyed, drugged out hipster's world views: bankers are evil, industry kills everything, we're all brainwashed by the media. Illuminati is such bullcrap, and DmC reminds him of that bull. To be honest, those conspiracy type things remind me of DmC. I don't call that a good thing. Especially since it takes that idea so seriously and actually makes Limbo brainwashed, in a way. I had enough of that after the Matrix, V for Vendetta, and other movies. I'm not saying DmC's plot is bad, but to say that it's better than DMC3's seems like a stretch. It isn't bad at all, it's just not something to laud.

Maybe it would be more interesting to have you or Dante believe that people are being brainwashed and so on, only to find out in the end that you were wrong. Sounds more interesting, and I haven't seen that idea often. Maybe even make it end badly, so that you can redeem yourself in the sequel.

I'm not sure why DMC3's plot would be anime-like. It's almost like stories from classic times, so I wouldn't call that anime-like. Maybe you'd view it differently if Dante, Vergil and the other characters (and the DMC world) didn't look like anime.

I disagree, but even though he had a point, I would consider him as a point misser due to how he post. It's more like sourgrapes, just like the OP.

DmC's story (in your opinion) wasn't bad but what they're trying is that story itself has a more Westernized feel, more grounded. All of the social commentary reminds you of the Illuminati crap, but someone here never read comic boks or novels.

And yes, DMC3 and DMC4 are actually anime-ish since it was based on a Japanese perspective. Suda51's works can be an exception (correct if I'm wrong) and not to mention the angry rabid fanboys love to take things out of context on the GDC panel.

Accept the fact that the OP's post is more of a troll bait and it seems he's begging to be banned. Um, do you want to start a flame war?

What the F am I reading?

What are you talking about? He didn't really miss any of the points in the story if that's what you were referring to. In fact, he analyzed it pretty well and found that there are many holes in the story.
He also made a very specific list of what he's talking about. So I would very much like to see examples of what you mean.

Hohoho, You should be recruited for the DmC Defense Team. :)

Why ofcourse. Because debates on the DmC boards always end in a flame war. It's totally his fault. :)
He just wants to troll everyone by discussing his opinion! We've been rused.

What Japanese perspective would that be? I see some Japanese ideas in DMC, but the main plots don't really remind me of anything Japanese. DMC3 seems perfectly acceptable as having a western plot. It's just got anime-like characters and ditto universe. Maybe I'm not an expert in all things Japanese, but I have read some manga, played some very anime-like games, and know some Japanese fictional ideas. Nothing made me see DMC3 as exceptionally Japanese. And the comic books and novels are usually based on that age old idea of bankers & industry being evil. Illuminati is just the newest form of conspiracy.

Philosopher and fangirl. Worst. Combination. Ever.
LysseC if you read my edit... I <3 <3<3 you.
Read it now.... I wuw u 2... <3<3<3 :p

I don't think he'd be one to go for that. Dante on the other hand...
That's why I have suggested just attacking him, all us fangirls together... And we can convince him by saying that, if he plays along, we can testify that he truly has a bigger d!ck... No matter what Hollow Kat said to him... ;)

Quick question, before I forget to ask:

Have you read the Divine Comedy in the original medieval Italian?
Sure I did... Not all, but, well it's difficult... They have us study it in high school, compulsory... At the time, I didn't know DMC, I admit, but when I finished DMC3 I re-read some parts of Inferno, and well... I laughed my a$$ off for a whole day...
However, this is Roberto Benigni reciting the Divine Comedy, Inferno V. He's a great actor, and he has Tuscany accent, just like Dante Alighieri, so well, it's perfect imo.

You're begging to be banned, right? j

Above that, I just went 'WTF did I just read' on OP's post. And it totally lost his credibilty due to the nature of his post and that's it. Haters are always blind if you ask em. So you also lost your credibility.

Right, and your opinion has tons of credibility when you label people like that.
Get out.

I don't think it's the plot that has a Japanese feel. It's the way the plot was presented.
The ideas about fighting brothers, twins at that, has been around in all cultures for a very, very long time.
DMC3 draws from The Divine comedy. Dante and Vergil, Going through the circles of hell in the demon tower, Arkham tricking both twins and leading them further into hell. You get the idea...
Then there's Lady. She wants answers fom her father for what he did and she wants revenge...and she gets it by shooting him. I'd say that's an idea universal to any culture. The tale of a child looking for revenge for the death of their mother and father killing.

The only thing Japanese with DMC3 was the presentation. Dante rding that missile thing Lady shot at him, Jester being flamboyant, the Nevan guitar scene, Dante riding that motorcycle up the tower and a few others. That's the sort of thing that's not in Western games too much.

I have to admit you guys are immature when it comes to this
You defend Tameem saying "He was just voicing his opinion."
Well, what are people like Eventstatus and other DmC skeptics doing?
VOICING THEIR OPINIONS!
I think it's the way Event makes his opinions. I saw one video where he was shouting something like 'NO-NO, NINJA TAM-TAM, JUST NO!' that just came off as a little....I can't think of the word, but surely there was a better way to express the opinion.
Maybe if he'd dial it back a bit on the shouting....I'm sure he thinks he's doing the right thing....and that's fine. But no one has to agree with him unless they want to.

Or maybe the same as people who labeled someone who tries to correct them are labeled as 'defense team' or something.

Get out.
