I have seen a lot of replies to threads about wanting reveals about the story of this game
Usually it is the fact that they do not reveal anything that makes the game so anticipated
Remember the first Predator (one of my favorite movies along with Scarface and Robocop)
how it kept you wondering what the creature looked like until near the end when it jumped in the water, It is what kept the audience wondering what the thing looked like and how the creature did not take off the mask until the final battle.
When they uncloaked the Predator (that is apparently a species called the yautja) it did give a taste of what the creature was but it did not give away too much instead , it made you wonder what was under that mask kinda like with Darth vaders mask in the first 3 star wars.
Now I do not know about you but when I first saw the creature I was stunned

Now what they did in Predator was when it uncloaked its mask kept you wondering what it was
but in DmC considering the situation even the slightest glimpse at the story could be major problem or a moderate spoiler unless they are very careful . Now lets go back to Predator. Since i wasn't alive when it was in theaters I had to watch the trailer on youtube , and one thing i noticed was that if any footage at all of the Predator/Yautja was that it was cloaked and that the trailer as with many movies did not give up the creatures appearance and did not spoil anything
Now imagine giving up something in the TRAILER for something. What if in the Trailer for Scarface they flat out said "Al Pacino's character(Tony Montana) dies in the end (although i think he just got sleepy from the shotgun and took a nap in the bloody fountain)
And yet again i say do to the delicate situation the slightest glimpse at the story could cause
Fanboy Rages
because be honest noone wants to see the gameplay since we have all seen the DMC gameplay
it is the story we are all wondering about and if they give it to us too early then it could turn to the worst of the situation and go too deep and hit magma

hmmm...you might be right ^ maybe if we know anything about the story it might spoil the WHOLE story, and we don't want that, but it is very difficult to stay in the dark about the story for us fans, because all the wondering/speculation we have to do is driving us crazy! D: but as long as capcom/ninja theory keep coming out with improved new footage of the game i will be content with myself until the game releases.

well not the whole story but point is that if they do not do it right like they did in Predator by concealing the creatures face
it really does nothing more than spoil something instead of keeping you wondering

That why I try to stay out of this sections of the forum but sometimes the thread on top catches my interest then I spoil things for myself. T_T

I like surprises, so the less they say on the story, the better. I miss the OMG moments.

yeah i think they are afraid they will accidently spoil something too, and that's why they're keeping the story so secretive.

i definitely agree with you to an extent, i miss the WHAT? DID THAT JUST HAPPEN!? moments in video games. not saying that no video games do that for me anymore, but alot of things are either spoiled or predictable these days. one thing that i thought was a well delivered OMG moment was when i was playing gears of war 3 and the whole time i was like "carmine is gonna die, its just a matter of time of when he dies". But then! the end of the game approaches and carmine lives! :D i want more moments like that, where you think you have something figured out in the game, but then it takes a totally different route from what you expected and you love it :)

That's the same strategy they used in the Cloverfield Movie. However, that sort of makes the game shaky. The reason being is this: If you can write a really good story, then you can reveal everything and still amaze people. The thing about not revealing something is that adds suspense but if you don't reveal anything for too long, the suspense dies out and people will be less reactive to the story because they might have theories about it that are close. Furthermore, if your story is so predictable that revealing a little bit of it will reveal practically everything, then I would suggest hitting the reboot button (no pun intended) and start over.... I think I just gave myself deja vu 0_O.

look up the word predictable in a thesaurus and your bound to find rise of nightmares for kinect
I have seen gameplay at one point your character is washing his face in front of a mirror and the guy playing was like "bathroom mirror scare in 3 2 1" tell the truth it is just generic horror scenes such as walking in a hall and walls closing

kinect should just stop lol but that's another topic for another time

Yeah i remember Cloverfield how you barely even saw the monster till it somehow managed to sneak up on the camera guy
I really did not get that HOW DO YOU LET A 150 FOOT TALL MONSTER SNEAK UP ON YOU especially with those spider things dropping from it (in the movie they were called HSP (human scale parasites) )

i remember i went to see that movie on my birthday, and just like mentioned above, the only reason i went to see was because of curiosity. when i would see the commercials on tv i was like "what the hell is that terrorizing the city!? i have to know!! im going to see it!!!!!" so in the sense that capcom/ninja theory are keeping story very secretive it definitely peaks my curiosity like cloverfield did. but at the same time when they won't give at least a basis of what the story is about it irritates me because i need to know more O . o i think what would be a smart move on capcom/nt's part would be to release maybe a small article of what the story is about. don't go too much in detail just give us a taste of what's in store for the storyline of DmC, but that's just me :)

I remember they did that with jaws in the beginning but it did not matter since every body already knew what it looked like

well after they fix the walking controls it could actually be a pretty good addon

Well the point is we already know the basic story about how its reverse of the original where now dante is the one being hunted by demons and that the city is coming to life
But anymore than this could be a major plot spoiler

We already know quite a bit of the story:
- Dante is being targeted by police as a criminal
- Demons have blamed something on Dante hence why police is looking for him
- There is a illusion on people that makes them not realize that some people are demons in disguise, and that demons are in charge behind the scenes.
- A group (Dante + Cat so far) is working to take down the demons

There will be tons of Youtube videos showing DmC story after release. Revealing more about story before release seems like a bad decision.

Please feel free to reply

Yeah but other than this we know nothing

Yeah but other than this we know nothing
But if we know more than this about the story then it pretty much reveals how the story is. For example we do not know if Dante is going after all demons or a certain one because of his mother's death.

Well that is why i wrote this
