This article is 100% exactly how I feel although considering that Xbots controls the damn gaming media, this logical article will probably fall on deaf ears...and thats a damn shame...

People will argue no matter what people say. Some people hate PS3, some hate 360 and some even hate the Wii. Its better if you just dont pay attention to any of the hate and just enjoy the games your playing on whatever console. Nothing you do or say will change peoples minds or the way they think so just ignore the childish fanboys who just love to hate everything else besides their own favourite console, be that the Sony fanboys, Microsoft fanboys, or ANY fanboys. Think i can live life without reading any more company and console argument talk. I swear each time i do i lose a little bit of intelligence as the general aura that surrounds those people is IQ draining stupid. Never understood fanboys and why they just continue some silly war against other consoles but to be honest id rather not understand them. Just leave them under their rocks and wait for another silly tirade to come every now and again. Im sure they shall get bored soon and realise what idiots they make out of themselves and how immature it makes them look. Until that day i shall enjoy my games and any console i purchase for what it is, a games machine. ^_^

You know that no 360 fanboy is going to come here because PS3 is in the title and if they do show up it will only be to bash the PS3 not to take this thread seriously. On top of that you CONSTANTLY tell people how you feel about the PS3, I think if anyone cared what you thought about it they would have stopped by now.

I've seen the 360 get chewed up and spit out more times than I have even seen anyone say PS3. Your acting like your it's mom and trying to keep the other kids from harassing it. The PS3 is a good [EDIT] An Amazing console and can stand up on it's own without you. I agree and disagree. Where as a lot of people do in fact pick a console because it is their favorite, a lot of people just can't afford to get the PS3 or even the 360. Then when they get whatever console, people like Esura make them think that there is some war between consoles and that they are obligated to defend there console. And when that is not the case they are insulting the owners of the system and calling them (insert fun curse word of your choosing) for buying whatever system, which once again causes retaliation.

I'd like to state again that I'm not trying flaming, but it's people like Esura and their threads/posts that cause this kind of thing to escalate into flame. It's like DD said just ignore them. Yeah they normally do it just to troll and find a need to insult people. As fanboys are one of the easiest groups to find and get annoyed and cause arguments trolls feed off them to cause trouble on forums and comment sections on gaming sites. Lots of websites only post fanboy styled articles because they know that the comments sections and activity of the sites will go up because of it. More arguments and comments in the sections means more views and traffic which is why most gaming sites are full of those articles and comments.

I appreicate the comment and yeah i do love all platforms. I have stated a couple of things that i was annoyed about with Sony in the past in some articles but i dont have any hate or anything towards them or the PS3 at all. Just think they did lots wrong with the European market. However only reason i dont own a PS3 is that it just didnt have enough games that appealed to me yet and thats it. I could sit here and state things about each of the companies that i thought they did wrong as none are perfect obviously but thats just the way it is. Im a hardcore gamer and i do enjoy games on all platforms (just so happens i only own 1 of the current gen consoles) but doesnt mean i dislike the other 2. :lol:

The Nintendo Wii is good at introducing those who aren't so versed in the console world to gaming, whilst having some relatively good games to boot.

The 360 has a wide selection of games that I personally find brilliant, whilst being a reasonable price, these days, you can pick up a 360 for £120.

The PS3 is starting to show its potential, having a nice line-up of games, whilst also having the blue-ray player, and the advantage of being arguably the most powerful console of the three.

And yet, they still all have their issues, the 360 has a massive case of the gremlins, although mine's never bricked, nor has it destroyed any of my games, the Nintendo Wii has fanboys who are probably bloody willing to murder anyone who stands against them, and has no games that really appeal to people who are into the whole FPS or RPG scene, whilst the PS3, at least in my area, I've found has the same games as the 360, just at a higher price.

I'm indifferent, I've played all three consoles, and they all have their good and bad points, fanboyism in general needs to stop, console hate needs to stop, fanboys shouldn't exist, if fanboys really love the console they own, then why the bloody hell do they try to stuff their ideas down other people's throats, and then belittle the other consoles in an almost over compensatory way that makes it seem like they're in denial?

I appreicate the comment and yeah i do love all platforms. I have a Wii and a 360, long story short there wasn't enough insurance money to buy one (that sounded worse than it really was) It kills me that I don't have a PS3.

But I have to slightly disagree on fanboyism needs to stop though. Fanboy wars and ignorant flamebaiting fanboys needs to stop but fanboyism itself doesnt. I'm a fanboy of alot of things. I'm a fanboy of PS3s, of Kung Fu movies, of porn, of fantasy novels like LoTR and The Abhorsen Trilogy, of JRPGs.....well you seem my point. Fanboys, at least prior to recent times, fueled the gaming industry as well as other industrys to what they are. The term "fanboy" is very loose as well. Fanboy can just mean that you are a fan of something. Say that you are a fan of say...games or a singer, well, you would be a fanboy (or girl) of said subject.

As of late however, fanboy has become a derogatory term, mainly because of douches, but I'm not ashamed to say that I'm a fanboy even with the current negativity towards fanboyism.

In a way your right but being a fan of something doesnt make you a fanboy. The term usually means that you are such a fan of something that you will go out of your way to defend any criticism that anyone has against it. Id say im a big fan of lots of things but in this day and age fanboy doesnt mean that, its definition has changed over the years. No-one wants people to stop being big fans of anything or really liking a certain genre, console, band, person or whatever. However taking it so over the top that you end up in arguments with people and talk like you would defend it to the death is whats wrong.

Its just that Sony are one of the cornerstones of the console industry and the media just love to pick up on anything negative with them and blow it up. Now after reading your post, I remembered that there were alot of negative and totally bullshnit commercials against Obama during the campain. The media wouldnt want Sony to do a Dreamcast as without Sony there isnt any competitive edge for the companies. Microsoft and Sony can both easily live side by side in the industry and they both know it. However they have to both sell consoles and games to the same market so have to retain a competitive nature. Which is very good for gamers as it makes both companies bring out their best and try to utilise their full potential. The industry just wouldnt be the same without Sony in it and everyone knows that. However it doesnt stop the media wanting to point out every mistake and bad thing. This happens with everything though its just more so with the bigger companies.

Only reason most Media act like they wanted Sony to fail is because Sony got bigheaded and thought everyone would just buy the PS3 just because its a 'Playstation' and the name alone would sell it. So they wanted Sony to realise that they did have to work at it still and do still need to show they care about their market and their gamers.

Can you blame them for being pigheaded? (I dont support it but just read on) They dominated Nintendo and Sega, the biggest gaming contenders back in the day, for like 10+ years. Sony essentially made gaming mainstream. But, yeah, like you said, that are arrogant, but they do deliver on most (not all) of their promises. Even with the PS3 supposedly being "dead on arrival" they essentially made a sinking ship float and give Microsoft a run for their money, literally (Microsoft spending $50 million on DLC is freaking asinine and like unreal...just to keep it from Sony). One of the reasons that I highly respect Sony and their products is because they really do deliver on promises and so far, they havent disappointed me.

Sony this gen just completely underestimated their competition and pretty much assumed too much.
