Vendetta acts like how it did in DMC2, with directional inputs changing the attacks, correct? Could we put in the shotgun/sword combos from DMC2 in as well?

Plus, instead of Stinger, I was thinking Vendetta would have a move called Scythe, which is up and attack. It would swing the sword upward, but not launch the enemy. Instead it would make the enemy flinch and not attack for a while. As a stun move.

1.that kind of set up seems too limited. and it would be hard for anyone who hasn't played devil may cry2 to figure it out. what i was thinking was that the charicters movements for each combo should be the same as in 2 but the commands should be based on timing like the other devil may cry games. you mentioned playing DMC2 alot so you would probably be able to figure out how to do that better than i would.

2. shotgun/ sword combos?

3.i was planning on replacing stinger, high time, etc. with improved versions of streak,high roller, etc. they seem to suit Vendetta.

In DMC2, if you used the shotgun after different parts of the base, four slash combo, Dante would do specific moves. After the first slash he'd kneel and fire, second would be Fireworks (yep, it was in DMC2 first) and third was a dodge roll to either direction while firing.

1. not sure what difference kneeling while firing would make
2. Fireworks is now the most basic gunslinger move for the shotgun so there is no need to have it somewhere else
3. i'm sure there is a more convenent way to make Dante roll while firing a gun.
4. if we where to implement somthing similer it would be part of the shotgun moveset so bring it up again when we get to Coyote-A

Meh. I just wanted them put in there as easy chainable moves, not for effect or anything, and plus it'd be nice nostalgia. But whatever.

altering the devil may cry 2 moveset to fit this game is starting to seem like more work than it's really worth so intead i will just use a modifed rebellion moveset.
(Note: Streak, High Roller etc. in this game will be based on the Level 1 EX version of the moves without the fire)

20. Falling Razor: B(during Split); cancel Split and throw the sword towards the ground;similer to Round Trip; moves Dante higher in the air; very short duration; high damage

1.while you were posting this i was editing my last post to finish Vendetta's moveset.
2. the move doesn't seem to fit Vendetta anyway but it would work as a gauntet move.

for something like that it would make more sense to press the button repetedly instead of holding it

and i would have expected you to have more ideas than that after all you were planning an entire seperate unarmed moveset. remember any ideas you had for that work for this. so list every unarmed move you came up with.

@ Danzye: Dante is not exactly serious but dancing? that seems more like Bayonetta's thing.

The way that Death Sentence is meant as a stabbing, ceremonial sword, I think a lot of its attacks would revolve around thrusting the blade and executionary tactics.

makes sense and since it contains Vergil's soul it would make sense to give it some of Vergil and Nelo Angelo's moves. i also decided to add in a few of Vergil's Beowulf moves to create a moveset that uses armed and unarmed attacks with one weapon.

i decided to change Dante's weapons a bit. since Dante killed Phantom and Griffon(well technicly Mundus killed Griffon because he couldn't beat Dante but you get the point) it seems appropriate for him to get their Devil Arms.
