This could literally be the end of the competitive quarrel. If you're not selling well in Japan and alot of popular games are from Japan. What are you going to do now? They're looking at these numbers and they're seeing 30,000 sold or maybe less. There's no reason to release their game on Xbox One.
That's it. Batman Arkham Knight is now exclusive to Ps4 in Japan. Does anyone else understand the significance of this? How many other multi-platform games are gonna proceed with the same plan? What is Tokyo Game Show going to mean to Microsoft? Revealing games is cool, but your system sales are going to increase by what? 10 or 20 thousand? Then you gotta factor in how many people are actually interested in that sort of game and decrease the sales projection of the game because it won't be reaching 1 million in Japan.
If your game was selling like **** on the Xbox One before. Then don't count on it smelling like **** in Japan. You might as well bring your sequel out on PS4 and PC.
It's simply not worth the effort of shipping games to Japan for that format. This is why I believe Sony doesn't need to buy anymore exclusives. These developers are going to have to make their games Sony exclusive in Japan. That means Sony doesn't need to lift a finger for exclusivity there in Japan. It's a free collaboration.
Now you have Tomb Raider....oh Microsoft just bought exclusive rights to it. Now it's doomed to mediocre sales, because now it relies on the Xbox One to bring in sales figures. They flipped out because Tomb Raider sold 4 million (Was it?) on both consoles. Now they're going to flip out because it may not even break half of that.
The Xbox One has shipped over 5 million units. It's imperative that people understand that shipped does not mean sold. It means "We haven't reached 5 million sales, but there are 5 million consoles out there." With it's launch in Japan being horrible!

You still haven't heard word of their sales figures with the Xbox One. I'm guessing around 3.5 million sold pre Japanese release. I'm also guessing post Japanese release 3.5 million sold and 2 million shipped. So, think about how many units they shipped to Japan and think about all the money they've lost doing only that.
Microsoft screwed up so bad with the Xbox 360 that it's now turning into their grave. If the Japanese can't trust you and doesn't want your product, then expect alot of American games whom import titles, to jump ship.
