Here's another appalling story... Soruce: http://news.aol.com/health/article/teens-charged-in-nursing-resident-abuse/267918

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (Dec. 4) - Two teenage girls who worked at a nursing home have been charged with abuse, accused of taunting, spitting on and groping residents who suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
According to the criminal complaint, filed Monday, 19-year-old Brianna Broitzman and 18-year-old Ashton Larson laughed earlier this year as they spat in residents' mouths, poked and groped their breasts and genitals, and at times mocked them until they screamed.

Broitzman and Larson, who worked as part-time aides at the home, have been charged as adults.
Larson's father disputed the charges against his daughter in a statement issued to and read on NBC's "Today" show Thursday.
"Not all of the charges are as they appear. Much of this has been distorted by the news media," Michael Larson said in the statement.
"My daughter was doing nothing more than performing the duties of her job."
No one answered the phone Thursday morning at Broitzman's home. There was no information in court records on attorneys for either teen.

Four other teens who worked with them at the Good Samaritan Society were charged as juveniles for failing to report the incidents.
A total of eight teens were allegedly involved in the incidents, but there was no record of criminal charges being filed against two of them.
Broitzman and Larson are charged with assault, abuse of a vulnerable adult by a caregiver, abuse of a vulnerable adult with sexual contact, disorderly conduct and failing to report suspected maltreatment. All are gross misdemeanors.
If found guilty, Broitzman and Larson "most likely will face suspended jail sentences and probation, so they'd have the threat of jail hanging over them if they get in more trouble," Freeborn County Attorney Craig Nelson told the Star Tribune of Minneapolis.
The Minnesota Department of Health released a report in August showing that 15 residents with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia disorders were abused at the facility between Jan. 1 and May 1.
According to the complaint filed Monday, one of the aides said the group gathered at work or school to "talk and laugh about the incidents."
Mark Anderson, administrator at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, told WCCO-TV that the past few months have been difficult for the staff, the home's residents and their families.
"We are just really thankful that the proceedings are moving forward and hopefully can see some closure to this whole process," Anderson said.

It is. I'm sure this isn't gonna make me any better for saying this, but those girls need to get a dose of their own medican by having someone force their fingers in their mouths and noses along with poking them and mocking them til THEYscream and cry.

The girls are doing all they can to get their parents to kiss ass and keep them from serving jail time. Oh waahh. Don't dish what you can't handle. A lot of people fail to realize it.

@VI: Damn, I felt sick after hearing that. Seriously, I felt sick. I could hardly read it without thinking I was wrong myself for reading it. That's just nasty. It's disgusting what some people are like.

It is. I must say I laugh inside when they get caught and pull the look of a deer in an on coming headlight and do all they can to deny it or save their ass by crying and making excusese of why. There is NO excuse for what these girls did. They did the crime, they need to pay the time.

Agreed. What they did was messed up. It's like I said to someone.

You know that people lie too much to save their own asses, because people are selfish and only care about themselves.

Those girls don't care what they did to those people, but when bad stuff happens to them it's all boo hoo for them. Seriously, they can't expect to not be punished for their actions. They aren't the only two human beings in existence. They don't just get let off because they throw a few innocent smiles at the camera.

Well it's good to know that you guys didn't think I was just being rude or emo.

A friend and I are about to go into the Navy, and last night we were talking about military stuff and how we're glad that we're not going to be Marines. You see, everyone i've known who has gone into the Marines come back as paraniod robots, i've had friends in JROTC come back as a Marine and didn't even acknowleged my presence, and that was just when they returned from bootcamp. Then my friends have talked about encounters they've had with Marines and how brainwashed and unnecessarily aggresive they became.

When the holocaust was going on the people of the German public had no idea what their armies were doing to Jewish people, and when they found out they were horrified. Same thing with Japan when they invaded China around the same time, the Japanese are known to be some of the most kind people in the world so you can imagine how their people felt when they found out what was going on in China.

You would think to yourself, 'Only a sick and twisited mind would do that' but look at the majority of the Marines that come back to their families. That's why I wonder...What are they really doing over there that we don't know about. Hitler told his armies that they were better than Jewish people and so it was ok to torment them right? Afghanistan and Iran distroyed the twin towers so its ok to do whatever to them. You see? It would be easy to put that into the mind of someone. You'd be surprized. And it's sad.

A quote my History teacher, (An Army guy) put on the board for mind. "The human race is an intersting species. They are the only ones who can be persuded to kill or save millions of their own kind." So very true.

And don't get me wrong, im not saying all Marines are going to be evil twisted people, just the majority i've seen. My gunnery sergent is a retired Marine, he's calm and collected, but he still has his personality.

This is probably why im always so attracted and interested in the bad guys who want to distroy humans on TV shows, mangas, animes, video games, ect. (Sesshoumaru and Wesker) Im always on the anti human side.

Urgh, reading these stories just makes me that much more disgusted at the nature of humanity, and even more ashamed to be affiliated with such a race, I'd jokingly say "This is why we can't have nice things." but even for one as cynical as myself, this isn't a matter to joke about, we as a species need to get our priorities right, getting the next iPod or the next PS3 at half price really isn't worth the loss of another person's life.

That man doesn't get to be with his family for Christmas...Nor do his family get to see him, instead, because of the actions of a selfish group, his family get to spend their holiday season mourning, during a time where we're supposed to be happy, but no, no such grace comes to that family, it's despicable what people will do, we truly have become a consumerist society, a society so obsessed with indulging itself in spending money and getting bargains that we overlook what is truly important now.

People have the sheer gall to say that we're the superior species on this planet, that we're the most intelligent and most civilised, but that's bull, we don't even deserve to be called animals, we're something less, something less civil, we're pathetic, we truly are.

The truth as it is people; in all its greatness. +rep man. You are right man, so right.

All you guys are taking the words right out of mouth. When my mom told me this story I was devasted that people could be that crazy and evil. I know people need sales, but come on. It is not that deep to just trample on one poor life.
