Boring?
This "running away" part excites me most, just look at those visuals.
"New Dante" also has no idea how to kill his opponent.....he just can't blow up the whole city, can he?
I wonder
Really I just summed up what happens when moderns writers get lazy in a nutshell

Cloverfield - did it right
AVP:R - did it horribly

In what hack and slash can you not kill the enemies, he has the weaponry, and we have seen trailers of him killing demons, so yes he is a sissy if he is running away from something he can kill.

In all do respect, it does sound easy when your a freaking half demon who is geared to the god damn teeth
How do you kill a city then? Tell me, what character ever has killed a city by using guns and a sword?

Bruce Willis killed a helicopter with a car.

And that was 2007 or thereabouts.

Relevance. I haz it.

According to Mr Randomlulz, he's supposed to kill the city with a rock...because killing a city is totally like blowing up a helicopter *rolls eyes* this has gotten to the point of "haters gonna hate". He has no fricken clue how to kill the city first of all, second of all there are civilians, which he's trying to protect, and third of all he isn't armed "to the teeth"..he has ONE sword that transforms and TWO demonic pistols...i'm sorry but even origiDante wouldn't be able to kill a city with JUST that alone. Remember when he NEEDED Vergil's help to kill that ONE demon? yeah >.> As I recall, even Jackie Estacado, who had unlimited power of The Darkness, had to retreat to get his bearings and form a plan.

Don't you guys think that this dante running away is new and fresh? This dante seems to be wiser and not hot headed.
The original dante never ran from an enemy even from the prince of darkness itself..........

well there was those two incidents were you ran away from phantom after you beat him the first and second time but even that's just optional

Sometimes the wise thing to do is retreating, live so you can fight another day. We have already seen that the new Dante is not invincible like the original Dante was, the only one proven to best him being Vergil. That said I don't see this new Dante as running, he's just not so stupid that he jumps head on into the fire completely unprepared. Also it doesn't really look like the new Dante is hiding who he is, as he walks down the streets with his freaking sword on his back and when he is found by the demons and gets pulled into Limbo, he doesn't flee away, he fights!

That is why this troll thread is troll, because it is about an opinion and covers it as a fact which it isn't.

First of all, fighting enemies just because you can kill them is pointless without a clear plan, goal or exit strategy. The war in Iraq proved that. Dante can fight forever and never kill all the demons. It's like trying to stomp every bug one-by-one in a badly infested building. He must lay low, bide his time and wait for the time and place to strike if he to make any impact on the demonic grip on the world. He is a terrorist, a domestic terrorist against the demonic powers that grip the earth. There's no strategy in 'just fighting' and whoever suggested that is an idiot or troll- which makes you an idiot as well.

If an enemy attacks, you dodge. The bigger the enemy, the further you move. The more enemies, the more you must move. If a building tries to kill you, you have to dodge pretty far. If an entire city of enemies and buildings tries to kill you what are you going to do? Chopping at walls and doors is pointless at that point- you move your ass!

If a city is trying to kill you, you nuke it simple as that, I'm pretty sure Dante could unleash some crazy ass demon energy to cause a neuclear explosion

Yes that is the answer to everything now these days. Cause some neuclear explosion to destroy a city as well as innocent bystanders. Great logic there!

That, and in DMC3 when you run away from that worm monster in the Leviathin's body, but I guess that was also optional.

what are you talking about, that thing was killable you know, right, you just had to pull out cerberus, whack the crap out of it, when it got ready to attack run away while shooting at it

But he STILL ran away. Didn't you say that heroes shouldn't run away? Yet here's big bad Dante running away from a dog?!

Okey dokie, this thread seems like it's just bringing up the first worries about the game.
In that they'll try to make it like a bad movie.

Again, I understand the problems, but I really can't see why that's relevant now.

But let me bring up three points:
In The Fight (extended gameplay reveal), a radio announcer says that Dante is responsible for an attack on a factory. Not running.

Since late 2010, a small synopsis of the game's plot has been copied and pasted across the internet more than a few times:
"Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost."

Again, it doesn't say "intent on running away from his enemies like a silly little baby."

Finally, I can't think of many action movies that specifically involved running away from problems.
If they did, they were bad movies.
Why would Ninja Theory want to draw entire plot points from movies they don't like?

So I can't tell if you're trolling.

If you are, sorry :[

Oh that clears things up, see people, proving me wrong with legitimate points. KenKen did it, now you can try too
