why do all these boss battles suck

The only fun fight is Vergil. the hunter could be alright if there were a rematch where he was a little harder or something but he dies so fast its just dull

it's like the boss design is stuck in the 90's or something?

Bob = dodge the shockwaves, ground pound the weak point, wail on helpless giant floating head. repeat the pattern three times. and its so annoying when you get to the enemy wave part because you don't actually have to do anything but kill time until he's done droning off his newscast speech!

the succubus and mundus are just copypastes of the same thing. LAZY
and its still just hit the hands, wail on them while they're helpless. even lillith's baby just stands in one spot until you deplete its lifebar. and then... wait for it...!! wail on the helpless weakspot!

there needed to be way more fights like vergil. the teleporty mask ninjas were more interesting than some of the bosses. ugh

I agree all the way...Vergil is the best fight, but I wish that the Mundus fight wasn't a giant boss battle. :/
I love fights that are like the Vergil fight.
Mundus in human form is sooo much more badass than his other form..the fight would of been fun as hell, too!

Mundus would be waaay better to fight the same way as vergil yes. make you fight him a bit smarter than usual and find openings. rehashing the boss from the DEMO for the demon king was just lazy i don't know what they were thinking for that to be a good idea

There could have been more bosses definitely and the bosses that were in the game were too easy and predictable at that. I think they got too gitty over TheSavior fight in DMC4 so they wanted to make another one like it. I wasn't too big on it either or at all. Mundus was originally a huge demon to fight but this to me was just a huge rehash of The Savior.

About the Mundus fight.

I honestly would have loved if they made his boss version the same as in DMC1 with the large wings and such. DmC's Mundus boss just seemed cheesy to me. Epic music for the boss fight but it didn't do justice to the look of the Mundus boss.

They could have made Mundus two fights the big one and when you go inside to fight the blue form Mundus

I don't agree that they suck but I too think that they could've been done better...well half of them. I enjoy replaying all the boss battles but the only boss battle I feel as a disappointment is the Mundus fight. Despite me having fun with it too, they could've made it different. It could've started with Dante teaming up with Vergil to fight the human form first.

Here's my boss rank for this game.

1. Bob Barbas (I LOVE that fight. It's just too awesome)

2. Vergil (I don't know if yall know this but Vergil can cancel his attacks a bit when his health is 50% depleted)

3. Mundus Spawn (GODDAAYUM that baby gave me too much trouble. Took me about 7 tries to beat him)

4. Succubus and Hunter (tie. both of them were fun to fight against but are predictable)

5. Mundus (I expected a LOT from that battle, even though it's fun to replay the battle too. I wasn't too keen on his theme first, but now I love it! It's pumping and it fits him!)

Anyways, I'm gonna play it again it SoS mode later today to see if they have any new techniques. I know Succubus did.

Actually I liked the Hunter quite a bit. He had not nearly enough HP but I enjoyed the fact that he throws his blade at you, which can then be reflected back onto him.

I liked the boss battles, but there is room to improve. Like others have posted, a fight with human Mundus would have been cool, then move to a fight with monster Mundus for the finish.
Also, I wish the lead up to the Vergil fight was better. It was like, make up any excuse for them to fight. ALmost like it was squished in there at the end for the sake of it. >_< Not the that battle wasn't fun mind; just wish it was a better reason for the fight.

I think they could've just given some of the bosses more health, honestly. Also, I guess they did update it so the demon dodge buff doesn't devastate as hard. Of course, if you happen to have full devil trigger and do a demon evade with it, any enemy is going to be whimpering. I think it was a good idea that they didn't suspend motion of the bosses like normal enemies in DT, since that honestly makes it more enjoyable against the massive, landscape-sized demons.

I liked them well enough anyway, but I will admit that they were a tiny bit less challenging than I expected. I still enjoyed them more than bosses like Nevan or Cerberus, though- the battles felt more involved and interesting, rather than simply hard.

3. Mundus Spawn (GODDAAYUM that baby gave me too much trouble. Took me about 7 tries to beat him)

Good god man. What difficulty were you playing on?

We really needed a redux of the Hunter Demon. Imagine if Mundas's tower was protected by three of them that attack simultaneously. That might have made the mission vaguely exciting.

Nephilim.

Question 2: Do you have arms?

I'm sorry, that was too mean. As an apology, here's a picture of Dante and Vergil as ducks.

I'm joking that the only way I can mentally reconcile someone having trouble with the Mundas Spawn is if they don't have arms. The boss fights in this game aren't particularly challenging.

The only boss I had trouble with was Vergil at first...due to not knowing how to fight his ass yet.
After that it seemed like every boss got easier..and to me the Mundus Spawn boss is the most visually pleasing.
The only way it made it better to me was because I just imagined it as something we could of done to Justin Bieber...or One Direction, or any other abomination now-a-days.
