Who is the "real" Dante and the best one?

I think DMC3 Dante because he seems to be the only one who could hold my interest in another medium like a movie or a anime. That's because he is a rookie and its easier to write those kinds of characters than a veteran which is we see them a lot in reboots and superhero movies.

I think DMC3 felt like a really cool pilot where i just felt DMC1 was more of a end than beginning but that might have been because kamiya didnt intend Devil May cry to become a franchise. i think he even said that he intended it to be like final fantasy and have a new hero/cast each game.
