It would be criminal to let this series go to waste.
No it wouldn't. :troll:

I'd prefer to call it a "merciful death". :shifty:

Seriously, put it out of its misery already.

Edit:

I'm going to be the odd man out and just say make a new hack/slash IP.
This. We need new characters and stories. And DMC3 mechanics because that game pretty much did everything a HNS was supposed to do in the first place. No need to fix what isn't broken.

Hideki says potential shouldn't be wasted. And Chii says she wants underpants back.

How did those get in there?
Must've been planted like OJ's glove.

Anyway, I suggest a new option. X-Men First Class. It was both a prequel and a reboot that kept X-Men 1 & 2 but retconned 3 and Wolverine Origins (if you look carefully) out of it's own timeline. The Mortal Kombat "revamp" and Star Trek reboot did this as well.

DMC3 tried to do this, but I think a proper prequel (or sequel) could make things right. Following First Class's example would be the best option.

Yes. I know people are tired of prequels, but with this or a "retcon" sequel, both DMC and DmC fans could end up getting what they want out of the storyline.

What kind of prequel, you mean like with Sparda? o.o

Maaaaaybe. But I would prefer one with classic Vergil. Or even DmC Vergil.

Both of them obviously grew up in a wealthy environment (one way or another) so, a game where it takes place in a nightmarish version of either one of their estates would be ideal.

I know they did that with mission 2 in DmC, but a whole game taking place inside this environment (like Arkham Asylum, but with Permanent Scarecrow Vision) would probably be the best option that Capcom has, at this point.

It's the game that we need, but not the one we deserve.

I don't think anyone cares that First Class basically erases X3 and Origins Wolverine. I mean, I pretended those movies didn't exist for the longest time. Like, right after I saw them because they totally blew. ARGH, I hate X3 and Origins. Thanks for screwing up my favorite X-Men character ever (Gambit) and also f#cking up Deadpool by the end of the movie.

Ryan Renolds as Wade Wilson is actually a great choice though. If the Deadpool movie ever happens I want him to play Deadpool. Turns out an X-Force movie is in development. This could finally mean I'll get my goddamn Deadpool movie.

"viable" not "liable". Capcom is not legally obligated to make DMC, well known for being prone to doing so, or susceptible to falling victim to DMC. That said, a DMC prequel about sparda would totally rock, as long as it was either developed by someone besides ninja theory, or ninja theory hired writers that are actually competent

the writers from infamous please

just get Alex Garland to come back or hire someone from marvel(preboot) or DC(reboot) to come in to write it.

Team Little Angels (Platinum Games) for DMC 5: Sparda.

They made DMC 1.

Just hope the remaining of the former team are still passionate about DMC.

Well since the main writer for DMC3/4 (Bingo) left they'll probably need a new writer....considered he never worked for the company prior to DMC3 and they hired him and he stayed with the company

He was apparently a professional manga writer.....it seems they were already outsourcing their writing in their games.

It was Team Little Devils that made DMC1, and I'm not sure how much of that original team actually makes up Team Little Angels now.

It's sorta like expecting the Rare from the golden days to also be the Rare that we have in the current generation. There's the name, but none of the heart may be there >.<

Well unlike Rare PG are still making quality games (it may not be as good as Clover Studios former works) buts still evidence they haven't gotten rusty.....much.

Personally I'm more interested in Saito (MGR) and Yamanaka (Anarchy Reigns) side of things than Kamiya and Yusuke.

Plus I hated how PG's games became sooooo...well a bit generic especially with how they overuse QTEs and very bad as well.

I'm not afraid of PG/Kamiya turning DMC into Bayonetta (wouldn't mind that) I'm afraid it will be loaded with QTEs (terrible ones at that) that somewhat ruins the experience. Vanquish's QTEs weren't as abundant as Bayo's but man were they bad and Bayo' QTEs came straight the f*ck out of nowhere and if you failed them...you got a death. Kind of why I preferred MGR and AR as well as Mad World since there was barely any QTEs and they were good/decent (Anarchy Reigns had none).

Plus they aren't as great as people claim they are....they're pretty good and makes amazing games.

Anarchy Reigns to me felt lazy...don't judge me its a extremely fun game and I might nominate it for GOTY in an action genre but there was evidence of ideas that weren't used and poor efforts in some areas (this game got delayed like 2-3 times you think they'll be more polished). It clearly was a budget title but I thought Kamiya said "you don't need all this technology and money to make a great game".

Well the Online Multilayer was good no great but the Single Player was sooo lazily done.

MGR suffered the same problems DMC4 had lack of dev time which resulted in some problems (It had backtracking but they weren't as bad as DMC4 since it was so quick and brief but that camera.......uggghhh).

Plus now I biggest gripe with them is Bayonetta 2 not that its on the Wii-U that it seems so far not much has changed from Bayonetta. They added a Devil Trigger like button/function.....that is it? I hope there is more since when I played Bayonetta I actually liked the combat (felt though it was amazing for the first entry IN A NEW SERIES....no excuses DmC...it could be improved upon immensely in a sequel) and thing I actually wanted in a Bayo 2 at the time was a function where you can easily summon the Infernal Demon limbs for combos rather than at the end of combos making Bayonetta more combo based in a way rather than mashing buttons to make combos....I'm glad they added the Umbran Climax feature but I hope there is more but what ****ed me off the most was when I heard that the D-Pad still uses the same functions from before where you select and use items on it....that irked me and made me not interested in Bayonetta 2 (they could've used that for some really interesting mechanic or usage that was more beneficial in combat like DMC4 did because I never set/equipped items to be used on the D-Pad since I can just go to my inventory and select and use it regularly like any other game so why waste a whole D-Pad to do something I can already by going into my inventory...Bayonetta 2's biggest fail).

I hope there is more cause if a Multiplayer mode and the Unbram Climax is the only true additions (outside new weapons, moves, combos, and sh*t that is to be expected of a new game) that is a bit disappointing and it seemed Bayonetta 2 is putting more emphasis on being more flashy and over the top....that is cool and all but then its all style no substance.

I hope that is not the case.

Exactly. That must be true because no one has ever made a worthy follow up to one of the greatest games of all time.

I will always love you. I hope one day you will return. :'(

Chaucney dude, are you trying to make me cry from nostalgia? *sob*

Just thinking about Nuts and Bolts makes me cringe. Sad thing is, the game was beautiful and would've been awesome if it just stayed true to the original gameplay.

Now I wanna play Banjo-Tooie and replay Cloud Cuckcoo Land and WitchyWorld *sigh*

What's happening to these companies? It feels like they lost their direction or something. Like they forgot what made their products memorable and fun.

*hugs* shhhhh I know, I know. Poor Banjo Kazooie. No tears, only dreams.

Or perhaps the key guys who were the true visions behind the games left leaving behind scrubs who don't know what they're doing.
