What just happened?

What happened in the past 6+ hours of which the forums crashed? What caused this and why am I the first one here? At least the forums are up and running.

this has been answered in my " was it me or" thread is general diss......... it was a routine update of some sort........... check ou the thread

you wernt the first one here, i was, although being invisible you dont know, but as omen said it has been answered in the gen disc area, and the server had a blip, all of steves forums went down, MEF, DMCF and i think the others did, btu i didnt bother to check

If you mean the HUGE lockdown where nothing could be accessed, that was not part of the database update - it was the server having a heart attack due to the massive increase in traffic to our Fable 2 site and shutting down for about 8 hours. Steve in turn had his own heart attack when he found out this morning and got the people hosting his server to get it going again.

We've basically jumped from 5,000 or so visitors a month to about 50,000 per month so it's quite a lot!
