What if Ninja Theory doesn't improve?

Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
Let's say this;

DmC comes out, and (For example) it's a success. NT will get a lot of attention for their game, and with what CAPCOM taught them, they'll be really tough to beat when it comes to the Western industry. But here's my argument;

What if DmC gameplay is the ONLY gameplay they can do?

Say they make a new game a year after DmC. Well, with what they learned from CAPCOM, they might only know how to make games that are like DmC, and then people will feel that DmC gameplay is the only way they know, and thus, it would be the same game over and over again.

That's what I worry about in NT's future. What if every game after DmC is just DmC mechanics but with different characters?

It depends on what genre or story they are pursuing.

main thing is that heavenly sword and enslaved were the same genre of gaming as DmC so they havent strayed to far from DmC.

so this question can only be answered if they decide to pursue something thats 180 from what they have done before.

Then they don't deserve to move forward. I know it's a harsh way of saying it but in the entertainment industry you can't be a on trick pony. You gatta offer more every time you make something and you have to be able to make more than just one kind of geme.

If they keep making DMC-like games, then it's alright I guess. Otherwise they'll deserve if they fail, but I'll still be a fan, since I liked Heavenly Sword and specially Enslaved even with their highly flawed gameplays.

That's not harsh. That's just life as a video game industry. If you can't go any further then where you are now, then you will not be able to go on.

I'm sure NT mainly took notes on how to make action games from Capcom not how to make DMC only games plus Itsuno was teaching and guiding them and he made plenty of games before handling DMC such as:

And more....I'm sure they just took advice on how to make games frame by frame, what movement is proper, alignment, proper sounding, and more.

I read that NT is hiring a creative director that is experience in third person shooter and next gen engine. Most probably they are creating a game for the next gen console. So in terms of moving on, they are.

So long as companies dont recycle the same engines year after year they can adapt their development skills to any genre and any style. So it depends if they are happy with where they sit in the industry or if they want to move with it.

I would like to think that NT would be sure to hold on to the knowledge Capcom has shared with them, in this regard I sort of see Ninja Theory as Charlie and Capcom as Willy Wonka.

They did Kung Fu Chaos I'm not worried :lol:

Capcom hiring for Resident Evil 7 :troll:

I dont really care about NT's future
I just hope they dont **** up DmC

Me too......once DmC comes out, fails, bombs, succeeds, or whatnot...if NT isn't making a game that will catch my attention I don't care what they do or what happens to them. Capcom can easily hire someone to make the next DmC or do it themselves.

I care, Capcom can't make DmC2, remember what happened with DMC2. Why do you think they hired NT at the first place, because they can't make a game like DmC, they think so differently about game development in Japan, I just can't see how they could pull off a western game without help. Now if DmC succeeds it would be stupid if they'd make a sequel with someone else, that would be like rebooting the reboot.

On the other hand Capcom has made many stupid decisions over the past couple of years, so if they'd get random success I think they might get cocky again.

So here are my thoughts: Dear Caps, make DmC2 with NT or don't make it at all, instead make DMC5 because you know how to do it.

Pretty much this^

Capcom wouldn't be able to copy what NT has done. And if they did, it would probably end up like DMC2. Capcom should stick to trying to do DMC5.

Yeah, but at the same time NT couldn't make a game like DmC. Without Capcom NT wouldn't have made DmC, they don't have the skills. Capcom was in charge of the gameplay and had to teach NT how to make a DMC game.

We mean after DmC comes out and another DmC comes out.
