There are just some people you cannot talk reason with, because all you say will be fended off and taken badly, even when trying to decently explain something. This site has them too, sadly.

eehhh, VeeBee is confuzzled... and mentally tired.... but it's not 3am and i don't feel like sleeping.
I believe they did, they were called bayonettes. Okay, so they weren't as cool, but they still did what they were meant to do... shoot and stab enemies
Also the more powerful the "gun" becomes, the smaller the possibility that you'll actually engage in close combat. Though I believe there are still guns who have either hidden blades (not cool Assassin's Creed ones, lamer and smaller, pun intended) or places where you can equip knives.
When I was in the army (now I feel like an old man when saying this) we had the later. We always carried a small knife, but when we were on guard we attached that knife in our rifle-like gun.
Also, to be on topic. I'm thinking that yesterday was super-special-awesome and even though it's something that will probably not happen again soon, I can still cherish the memory^_^

Indeed your right my love, but I met why doesn't the military of today use them lol. Now FF13 comes 2 mind lol.
ahh... no one really does close combat anymore though, so i suppose they've disposed of them.
Now thinking of starting a crime fighting revolution consisting of a team of rogues who fight with GunBlades! Called Rogue Squadron GunRangers!!
