FF7REBIRTH

Apparently I'm halfway through the game but I don't feel it.

I'm at Corel and it's a shame Cloud. Jr couldn't stick around. He would've been a good pet for Marlene.

Yuffie is a glass cannon. I should use some healing materia as part of her arsenal.

I think I met the FF7R version of Team Rocket in a sidequest.

Gold Saucer is fun but the mini games after Dyne appear are tone breaking and I start to see the complaint.

Also playing FFVII Rebirth. But 95% of this games are Minigames and just running around to activate towers.
I wish they would have focused on the main story and not on how to play card games, clash of clans, fall guys, rocket legue and other mini games in there.

I finished Soul Reaver. Loved every artistic aspect - writing, dialog, world, music, etc. Gameplay? Ehh, didn't age perfectly with the bad camera and platforming and basic combat. But it's serviceable.

On to Judgment now. I'm about 2/3 through already from playing previously, so I hope to finish it in the next week or so. The past few days I've been playing:

Judgment
BlazBlue: Entropy Effect
Marvel Rivals
Virtua Fighter 5 REVO

Just beat Dad of War 2.

I have a lot of thoughts about that game. Once I beat the first game's main campaign I was done. It was a fine game but I couldn't be bothered to do the extra content and side quests, This one was 10 times worse. This game is way, way, too big. It's 2 games worth of content which, on paper, sounds great, but, in practice, it got so tedious. There are too many crows, too many areas, too much traversing and not enough ways to get around. As I was getting to the end there was only one chest left for me to get full health, and I could've done it myself, but I was so burned out with the game already that I just saw a video on the solution. There is a lot of good stuff here but this is too much and I just went through the credits and deleted the game. I know there's plenty of post content but I am just not feeling it anymore.

Finished the main story of avowed, so i went back to a save before the point of no return to do all the side quests and treasure hunts as i did all the bounties already.

I'm at Tifa/Aerith/Yuffie versus Scarlet in chapter 9. I don't have a good handle on Aerith and I should take time to beat the summons in Chadley's Arena next chapter.

FF8's upgrade system would probably work better in this trilogy as the various weapons feel too scattershot in appearances to care about getting. Just have Chadley upgrade them for a cost.

I'm trying to catch up! Midway through Gaiden. I'm maybe spending too much time grinding for yen to spend on...uhh, the cabaret.

How many hours are you in? At least of that post. Is it a tight 20-30ish hour game like Outer Worlds was?

Anyway, here's what I've been playing the past few days:

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
Neva
Age of Darkness: Final Stand
Warriors: Abyss
Virtua Fighter 5 REVO
Mortal Kombat 1
Marvel Rivals

Age of Darkness is a HUGE surprise to me. I wasn't even really following it, then it just popped up on Steam after it hit 1.0 and was on like 50% launch sale. So I got it on a whim. And, it's actually quite good. A game I'd love to have played 10+ years ago, when my backlog wasn't so huge and I didn't mind playing a wide variety of genres. It's a "survival RTS" (I guess is the genre name catching on), which is basically a combination of Tower Defense and RTS genres, started by They Are Billions. This is totally not up my current alley, but again, it is fun. I may try to actually beat it.

I tried the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves beta. It has a lot of mechanics to remember. I decided to just wait for release when I can truly play it and actually go in training mode. I'm not sure what pair of FGs I'll stick to in the long term - MK1 and VF5 or Fatal Fury and Tekken 8. The reason they are in those pairs is due to their inputs (MK1 and VF5 both have block buttons and I can't go back and forth between FGs that are too dissimilar in inputs, so I try to keep FGs grouped by how easy it is to rotate between them in small windows).

The main story and bounties took me 15 hours on rhe highest difficulty, that is just main quests and monster hunts.

I now have a lot of side quests across the 4 map regions, plus treasure hunts and other things to do which will likely double that time or more i would say.

Tifa's time in the lifestream gave me KH vibes.

The Alexander boss fight reminds me of how Scarlett's mech fights.
