I personally give XIII a big 10/10 for Story, Character Development and Sheer Beauty!
But, as Mr. Credo accurately said, it fails to grab me (which is an odd phrase considering all the DoA chatter =p). I dislike being forced into specific party's, narrow corridors and paths give nothing to even the illusion of exploration. The level up system is great (IMO), but without places to have a few repeated battles (without trying to 'trick the game')you often constantly feel like you're not hitting as hard as you should.
I'm on...uhh, the bit where we're going to
, its a nice part of the game! The party suits me, and while the paths are linear the story and the tension to the rescue is building nicely.
But, there have been parts (Especially Hope & Snow sections) where I have had to force myself to play it, while I love the story and the way the characters are growing (with no exceptions), forcing you into party's just makes me feel like Square is trying to make you like 'everyone', when I would far rather learn to master a few, than like everyone.
Also, I think that there should be 4 people to a party, just seems to make sense...that way they could add a ton more enemies at harder levels to even it out. That would also resolve the monotony between battles.
Anyway, backontopic, playing FFXIII =p
