Kept you waiting, huh?
Oh, how good is it? Are you playing it on PC or PS3/Xbox 360?

Playing it on PC, runs like an absolute dream.
It's pretty damn good, I'm a 40k fan and tend to love most, if not all things 40k, it controls VERY well on PC, looks good, sounds good, the soundtrack is perfect, the weapons sound perfect, the combat is visceral and bloody, the executions make me giggle like a schoolgirl and tearing down a horde of orks running at you when all you've got is a chainsword always makes you feel like a badass.

Honestly, I'm not actively looking for issues so not many are presenting themselves to me. The biggest complaints seem to be multiplayer related in that the netcode is poor and it's laggy out the ass, but it's been absolutely fine for me, no lag, nothing of the sort.

My only gripes with the game is that the multiplayer is peer to peer and mics are always on by default, so you always end up in games filled with mouth breathers. Detracts from the experience a little.

I see. From what you played, do you think the game is worth playing on PS3/Xbox 360?

I see. How do you compare the game with Gears of War games?

I wouldn't.
It's a third person shooter, that's where the similarities end, and even that's a bit of a stretch.

Gears of War revolves around hiding behind cover and pumping bullet sponges full of lead.
Space Marine actively encourages you to take up a sword and get in the thick of the combat, because the only way to regenerate health is to execute enemies.

The mechanics of the game are simply too different to fairly compare, I've seen reviewers make comparisons between the two that just don't really make sense. In Gears, chest high cover is littered everywhere, in Space Marine, your armour IS the cover.

I'd actually classify Space Marine as more of a third person brawler style game because of the intense focus on melee combat.

I see. From what I heard, the game does not have a cover system. This game sounds interesting, and perhaps I am gonna get it soon. Thanks for explaining, Angelo Credo. :D

Indeed it doesn't, as a Space Marine, you're quite literally walking cover, you can soak up quite a bit of damage and can regain a chunk of that health by executing an enemy in the most spectacularly over the top fashion.
Go for it, the campaign's a right laugh and the multiplayer's good too, I dare say the netcode issues will get fixed up soon enough.

It's probably the most outright fun I've had with a game in a while, if you're looking for some mindless carnage, Space Marine will serve you well.

Glad to be of assistance. ^^

Don't trust people
League of Legends and Assassins Creed Brotherhood.

Anticipating FFXIII-2, Skyrim and Assassins Creed Revelations too much so Brotherhood feels a little boring. <.<

Did it actually end up any good as reviews have been mixed?

Currently just about to download the Fifa 12 demo and play some more Deus Ex.

It's amazingly fun if you've got a couple friends to play it with.
In a respect it's similar to Borderlands, hilarious with friends and mediocre on your own.
I'm personally enjoying it, although I dare say that's in no small part thanks to playing with mates, the gameplay's good, we haven't noticed that many bugs either.

But yeah, if you had any experience with Borderlands and enjoyed that with friends, then you'll enjoy Dead Island too.
