Well that was insulting.

Yeah, don't feel bad about it. That's just how these guys are. Like anything, certain brands of humor aren't for everyone n.n PewDiePie is one of the most popular people on the planet but I can't stand his videos :p
Guess I'll just stay with RadBrad and The Achievement Hunter then.

Of all the DmC vids I expected to be here, I never expected to be from the "Best Friends."
Admittedly, I'm a big fan, but their humor can be a acquired taste. Like others have already said, the drunk-idiot/drunk-angry-guy thing is just there shtick. They've said a couple times that they like the game.

Well yeah, that's the feeling you could get from any episode of Two Best Friends play >.< Not sure why this one in particular is insulting :S
'Cause DmC hate, no matter how "jokey" or "non-serious" it may seem, can still feel "genuine" in a way because HURR HURR IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THE CLASSICS HURR.
They've said a couple times that they like the game.
Yeah, but then again, a lot of haters (or "non-fans" if you prefer) have also said the same thing to get the pro-DmC "hipsters" like us off their backs.

They reveal their true colors in the end though. It's in their "DNA".

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now though, or at least, until I see further evidence that they secretly despise the game (like I suspect they do, anyway).
It might be funny for some, but as for me, I kept thinking: "Why am I spending my time with these two drunks?"
YOU'RE JUST BEING AN EDGY HIPSTER THAT SWALLOWS CORPORATE PROPAGANDA YOU NEED TO THINK FOR YOURSELF AND FOLLOW MY OPINION INSTEAD.

Eh, these guys rip on everything, really. It's not about objectively reviewing or commenting on the game, it's about tearing it apart in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 kind of way :p

exactly.

Some people need to lighten up more, it shows how DmC has split the fanbase so much that people need to feel defensive on anything negative towards DmC.

True there are some jerks or "haters" out there who may have "hurt" some of the fans of DmC to that point to be that defensive and feel insulted easily, but these guys just like to have fun ripping on stuff and its their brand of comedy, don't get why such hate is being thrown at them in the comment sections on youtube.

I thought it was entertaining actually and apparently so did many other DmC fans out there as well.

But it did, before DmC was revealed the fanbase was not split like this, could you honestly say that was not the case?
A game is simply a product you put into your machine (and maybe a valid interpretation of art, blabla).

Whatever people do with their opinions of said game is their responsibility. You can't just go around saying that "it's DmC's fault."

Besides, plenty of people hated 4, so I'd say the first true major division started around that time. Not because of the game itself (Games don't do anything. They're not alive.), but because certain people didn't enjoy the gameplay at the time.

So, yeah. I can honestly say that that wasn't the case. The fans (all of them) brought this upon themselves. Both through defending and attacking what they liked and hated.

People hated 4, but for the most part the fanbase was pretty tame up until the reboot was revealed.

And did you read my earlier post all the way through?

I also acknowledged that the blame also fell on the jerks and "haters" as well for making members feel so defensive.

No where did i say that it was entirely to blame on DmC.

I think the discussion between JonTron and Egoraptor towards the end pretty much sums up my stance on this whole "old vs. new" conflict.

Explain the hate on Reuben Langdon when they found out he was playing Dante then.

Explain the hate on DMC4 when Nero was revealed.

And stop saying "did you read my post" 'cause that argument is BEYOND TIRED.

You're putting at least partial blame on DmC by insinuating that "it divided the fanbase" then asking me "can you honestly say that that wasn't the case?"

You can backpedal all you want by saying "Oh sure, there were some haters" but you can't say afterwards "You didn't read my post" when people call you out on what you said in the first place.
