WDYT: DMC to return in a major way!

Agility

"Known"
WDYT means What Do You Think?

So if DMC (non Ninja Theory)were to return what would you expect? If DmC were to be given a sequel what do you expect? Please elaborate!

I'd expect Novels and for the anime to start it's second season!
Novels to give us more information on everything we've asked about including NERO and VERGIL.
The anime to show us what happened between DMC 4 to DMC 5. Special anime movies with narration from the character's point of view (Dante POV, Nero POV, Vergil POV, etc).

Also....drumroll for this one...

Special edition DMC pizza rolls! Cause I'm pretty sure we all played DMC with pizza rolls somewhere closeby.

uh i think this thread should be moved because this has nothing to do with DmC. lol

I think hoping for a DMC comeback is reaching a bit. When has a series undergone a reboot, then returned to its previous incarnation? It would be like bringing Burton back to continue his Batman story after the Dark Knight Trilogy is over. Or bringing back Sam Raimi and Tobey to do Spider-Man 4 if The Amazing Spider-Man underwhelms.

Now I know Capcom mentioned something about not ruling out the old DMC series, but really? Come on. The series is being rebooted for a reason. This has to be a ploy by the PR department designed to curb all the negativity spewing from the DMC hardcores regarding DmC.

In my opinion, there's no way that two very different representations of the same franchise can be successful while running parallel in terms of being on the market at the same time. It would likely confuse all those casual gamers (why does Dante have white hair in this one but not in this one) and would greatly effect the sales of the franchise as a whole (why waste time producing DmC games if people gravitate more towards DMC and vice versa).

I believe comic books might do this (I don't think I've ever read a comic of any sort, so correct me if I'm wrong). As in having two different Batman stories by two different authors running side-by-side, but I'm not sure if that's how it goes or not. Or maybe DMC and DmC could release a new game in their respective incarnations every other year à la Call of Duty. But I just don't see it happening. DmC is where it's at now. Kinda just have to deal with it.

It should not return. DMC story died when it´s creator left Capcom company.

DMC 2, 3 and 4 story is good example of a story train going off the track.

They should instead make a spiritual successor to DMC. A spiritual successor that does not involve story but focus on innovating DMC gameplay.

Perhaps DMC coop ?
DMC multiplayer?
These are just two things they can APPROACH and see if it´s possible to pull off, and still have what makes DMC DMC - gameplay.

I'd just go with announcing DMC5 and seeing how people react. If the reaction is positive, i would commision a anime set between 4 and 5 or a comic miniseries.

We already have that. It involves a chick with a skin- tight jumpsuit made out of hair. You might have heard of it.

Personally, I would want Kamiya back in the helm and make the story for what it was meant to be. Because Itsuno f'ed it up... badly.

I want Kamiya back for a prequel, but that is not going to happen. I would love to see teen Vergil and Dante :)

And Bayonetta gameplay from what i hear is very good, but you need to find a way to elevate the gameplay experience. Coop or Multiplayer or something different like that.

I would like to play as their father. There is no way Capcom can fail with a Sparda- based game. If they do, they just suck extremely.

Co- Op definitely, but not Multiplayer. Action/Adventure games don't really have a purpose for Multiplayer.

I am just thinking it's best not to exclude anything.
Anyhow without Hideki Kamiya it's no point with a Sparda or a DMC prequel game.

err hate to be THAT guy but i agree with Choco,
move it to a different place this isnt about DmC.

i think kobayashi screwed it up more because his era felt more like a creative dead end. Itsuno's DMC3 was an interesting pilot, Kobayashi's anime/4 was call to jump ship.

Happens all the time in comics.

if there is a DMC5, it would be better to connect DmC and old franchise.
Finally, DmC will be proved to be an informal prequel.

i didn't anything different here in DMC.

can you rephrase?

what i meant was that they changed too much and burned too many bridges, so keeping them seperate would be better. Plus its more freeing because you dont have to worry about canon.

i bring up the movie since with movie adaptations, you would change things around anyway so it would be easier to make both fit.

More like he didn't try all too hard. I think he just wanted to keep up with what brought out the most reaction from fans which seemingly included elements from Itsuno's reboot.
