They can band together all they want and even start a petition or something more proactive. As long as they don't harass people all day long, i'll be fine. I won't even acknowledge them.

This isn't going to happen. There's going to be at least one person who's intolerable enough to spew insults at a person just because they like the game.

i'm not a fan of the whole "turn the other cheek" stuff and ignoring them doesn't work so yeah.

How do we know that it worked when the haters weren't really ignored to begin with? People have continuously been feeding them attention since the game was announced.

Also i see you running to the rescue of "haters" each time someone dares making fun of them but i don't recall seeing you tell the people who post that joke from 4chan( with Limbo saying to Dante that "he's a faget") that this kind of joke aren't ok. The joke didn't bother me by the way, i genuinely found it creative and funny. What did bother me tho is that a couple of days before you and a few others were lecturing the guy who jokingly compared Limbo and 4chan.

I'm just one person. I do what I can to express how I feel about the current situation.
And yes I saw the 4chan joke about Dante being a "faget". I laughed at that too. Just like I laughed at the hair joke that NT did. And as I stated before, jokes like these are slightly unnecessary to me, but whatever.

And the joke between 4chan and Limbo just seemed too farfetched in my opinion. That's why I responded to it.

Wonderful. Another 60 bucks in Capcom's pocket. My hopes for a sequel are raising. (try to)Have fun.

For all I know, they might end up pirating the game. I slightly doubt they would actually buy it just for me.

All they said was that "Oh you want us to get the game for you?" I said "sure" since I didn't want to buy it myself. And that's about it.

This article is only gonna bother you if it applies to you. That's the point. If I like...Skyzoo for example and I'm listening to his music, while I'm enjoying those songs I'm not sitting there going "Man...Gucci Mane SUCKS!". Enjoy what you like, period. If people don't want to play this, they can either get Anarchy Reigns NOW, or wait for Metal Gear Rising, or both. If they're going to continue to whine about something they don't even intend to purchase, they should be treated as such, and I have no problem calling them out in this fashion. Maybe that's because I'm petty lolol

That's the problem. I got upset mainly because of the "gamer" portion.
Not about bashing the haters (I just find that to be hypocritical)

And basically, what VampireWicked said about the gamer situation is what I agree with.

It's just as disruptive and virulent if you agree with it though. It coaxes you, vindicates you, makes you willing to put down irrationally anyone who has legitimate complaints about DmC. You see the article isn't about telling off the antis; it's about perpetuating the schism. Those who hate DmC aren't going to be discouraged by this article, they're only going to be angrier, and it's worded in just such a way to ensure that it does so. Only by ignoring it can you exhibit any control.

You see the real battle isn't between Antis or Pros. It's between Devil May Cry fans and Idiots. The fans want what's best for the series. The Idiots use ad hominem and insults. The Idiots are fuelled by articles like this one, and use it to drive the fanbase even further apart. Most importantly, you become one of them when you stoop to their level.

Being petty and combative doesn't make you an idiot though, it makes you petty and combative. Sure, it can be argued that wasting energy on negative things is dumb..but not necessarily. People who spew the vile nonsense that has been said about DmC, Tameem and Co tend to find themselves in a group think with others who share their blind hate.

What an article like this, and "stooping to their level" effectively does is shows them that there are people outside of there idiotic worldview. It disrupts the hivemind, so to speak. Sure, you can ignore it, but I find it personally very difficult to ignore stupidity. Perhaps that's a character flaw I should work on *shrug*

the article is great (at least..I think it is) but in the end....its all pointless..."haters" will still "hate"...we will still object and in turn "hate" the "haters"...we are doing nothing but going in circles....Yes, DmC is awesome...yes...it features are rather young and dark haired Dante....who cares...its a REBOOT....what is a reboot...a re-imagining, reinventing, alternate timeline, a fresh start....as a long time fan (as I am sure most of you are)..I was on the fence about the new direction....at first....but after seeing the game in action..there is no way you cant say that this is a true Devil May Cry entry....this is merely my opinion...as is/are every word typed by those in the above comments and anyone who wishes to comment after me...knowing this...the article and this conversation...should have and could have been avoided...

This isn't an article. This is some woman's personal opinion, jam-packed with links to random articles that don't really serve a purpose other than to further promote VG24/7 to those who may not otherwise be bothered with them and it certainly isn't journalism. It's a silly little blog post which seeks nothing more than to cause some speck of controversy and to make a rather pathetic attempt at link-baiting.

The women who write for VG24/7 are not good at their jobs. I've yet to read an article written by one of them that is on par with other female journalists on different sites. They really need to just jot down their ideas and ask one of the men to write it out in big-person words in future.

VG24/7 is becoming like the Daily Mail of gaming websites and it's pretty sad stuff. Seems to me someone somewhere has read too much Jim Sterling and feels that the only way to make their site more noticeable is to get a member of staff to write something pretty hate-filled in its own right and then hope to get some more traffic from the Destructoid-type of reader. Oh, and don't forget to make the writer a woman because that will stir things up even more in a wider range of social circles :troll:

Dear oh dear indeed...
