Tomorrow is the end of the world and there's only 4 weeks left

I personally think "The apocalypse" concept is a sort of initiation ritual for people to face their fears in certain periods.
That is why we have so many "end of the worlds" and we are sort of remade after it is over.

The Long Count was to mark a sort of "social awakening" at the end of that calendar's generation. I'd like to think that after this people will sorta get their sh*t together.
 
In universal terms the world we live is on an extremly delicate possition, always has been. The slightest alteration to the very delicate balance that keeps our world at ideal conditions to sustain life would be a world ending disaste. Its been like that since before we were bipeadals, 'll provably still be the same long after we've turned to energy beings. Its been an incredibly fragil balance that's required entire chuncks of the universe to make it happen. So, yeah, it could happen any moment, all life could end in the blink of an eye and that has been the situation since this world bacame capable of sustaining complicated organisms... Do amy of you want to spend the rest of your lives worring about it?
 
It seems it was postponed because they missed leap year and it's 2015 september.
Also it seems the Egypt Temple of Isis also says the world will be flooded that year somehow.

.... Did they now... Are they sure this time? What happens in 2016 comes swinging and we're still around? Are they going to blame that on the slow but steady decrease of the rotation of the earth thus extending the length of what 24 hours will be then compared to what it was back when the calendar was carved?:/

I hate those sorry bunch of wankers, spewing crap about how they'll be proven right and other will be sorry they didn't listen.

But one thing for sure. We can play DmC at peace.
 
The talk of missing Leap Years in terms of the Long Count Calendar actually supposes that the end of the Long Count was back in July. We're the ones that add days in every four years, so we'd need to subtract them all to see how the Mayans counted it.

Even though I don't believe any of that malarkey, I still think the people who translated the Long Count and got us that December 21st date, they were intelligent enough to remember to implement our use of Leap Years :p
