Remember when in the tgs 2010 trailer for the reboot where Dante used his grapple (demon i guess?) to throw a car at demons anyone else think they should have kept this? (also i think there were going to be finisher moves or at least looked like it it's in the credits)

originally dante would do slow mo finishing moves for fights, but capcom stepped in and tutored NT on how to do stylish fast paced combat

They really should have Real impact and Dance Macabre.
Also a lazer type gun as well...and a charge attack for Arbiter and...(Goes on forever)

Or maybe for the sequel they could put some cars in some missions for Dante to demon pull and throw them to the demons just to die quicker, though they can still stand up after the impact in DMD mode. It can be real-life ones too like an H2 Hummer or something.

Don't know why they got rid of that..
because...

I would have enjoyed the smoking gimmick to have stayed.
Apparently, according to the supposed "hardcore" Devil May Cry fans, smoking is for "losers."

"Winners don't do drugs! But you're a loser! So why don't you just give up and do some drugs!"

Also, I wouldn't have minded slower paced combat with finishing moves including the car throw or the sadistic scene where Dante sticks a lit cigarette into a demon's eye, had it been complex and diverse.

The series cannot keep the same combat system from Devil May Cry 3, nor mimic it any further.
When that happens, we may ultimately have a successor to Devil May Cry 3.
DmC could have been that, had the fans and Capcom allowed Ninja Theory to press forth.

Guys, him smoking was not only the ultimate "**** you" to the original lore, it was the easy way out in making him look cool.
Original Dante was too cool for lung cancer

I highly doubt demon-angel hybrids get lung cancer.
Also, we've been over how it can play not only a part in gameplay, but also story and character development.
Regardless, it's still a "**** you" to the original lore.
Dante doesn't smoke.

And don't give me that "It's a reboot" bullshit, because reboot does not mean "Butcher the original lore"

Who says original Dante didn't smoke pre DMC3? Might have done. He does have a thing for the ladies....or at least messing around with them. And don't know if the DMC3 manga and anime are cannon, but he had bottles of Jack Daniels and went to that strip club. So he could have been like DmC Dante in some way.

Smoking is smoking. It doesn't make someone look cool or a loser. It's just something a person can do.

I don't think Demons get cancer...so maybe half demons wouldn't? I don't think DmC Dante would get cancer either with the way Vergil was saying it was impossible for Dante to have meningitis because it was a human illness.

The original lore butchered itself. You have played Devil May Cry 4, correct?
It's inconsistencies are the reason there is a reboot.

I don't know what it is. Ninja Theory seems to think smoking is cool. It's not cool, but it's not 'uncool' either. It's just something you do - like playing video games, eating fries, potato chips, etc. I'm so sick of people treating smoking as though it's something that stands on its own. Just like I'm sick of people who keep suggesting playing video games is ''deleterious to one's social skills''. Yes, of course it is! Just like playing solitaire on your PC is. Just like reading a book is! Faaaaaak.

Did you know my country's actually thinking about banning smoking in schoolyards? So it's illegal to smoke outdoors now, eh? Chroist.
