@Z218 I should look into that. Neil is one of my favourite writers, so I imagine his masterclass is a godsend. ^^

+Only four scenes left to edit before this draft of TMT is done.

It sure as heck won't be the last, but hey--progress is progress. ^^;

Then I'll need to put some distance between me and the trilogy--between me and all the related works, in fact--and work on that short story for the anthology I hope to be a part of. Gods help me, though, since I have a very vague idea of how it's going to go, and how it's going to tie in with the anthology's theme. x_x

++These CP notes for Shadow & Flame are largely hilarious with a smidge of helpful writing advice thrown in. Both of which are absolutely invaluable; one for my fragile little writing soul, and one for the betterment of my craft. Damned if the latter doesn't make me feel like an idiot, though (through no fault of my CP. I always feel like a hack or an abject failure when someone points out what I feel I should've caught on my own. Yay, writing angst!)

for the Vergil one I write like HP Lovecraft.
That's...interesting. I wonder if it really analyses your writing style or the content of the writing? Or maybe it's totally a coincidence that they liken a story about a halfbreed who raises hell to the style of the master Cthulhu myths?
Yours is way better than mine, anyway. I remember doing an online analyses and I got Hemmingway. Which, after going to read some of his work, is just an indirect literary way to say I'm boring.

Has anybody here trialed Fictionary yet???

I'm real tempted because this is exactly what I need, but I don't want to waste money and time if this isn't going to fulfill my dreams. I mean, my needs. Well. Same thing, whatever, I guess. Pretty darn sure all the issues I've encountered with the rewriting process are the same or similar issues every other writer on the globe has had to crawl through. Point in fact, being, I'd like feedback on experiences of this software from the people I trust more than the complete strangers out there.

I haven't tried the new "write like..." thing, but I do remember doing one some years ago and getting different results depending on what part of the story I highlighted. When I used Phenex's first asshole-ish tidbit in the story, I got compared to Stephanie Meyer (which...no. I don't have anything personal against her, but no.) Other sections got me Chuck Palahniuk and Dean Koontz, neither of which I've read (yet?) but I think they're what? Horror? Thriller? Either way, maybe I should see what results I get from the new one. :cautious:

And nope, @Dante's Stalker I've never even heard of it. Might be worth looking into, though. If I give it a try, I'll give you the verdict. :thumbsup:

Edit: Just did the "I write like..." thing for the Prologue of S&F, and it came up Anne Rice. Pretty sure that's just because it happens in New Orleans... :laugh:

@Dante's Stalker
Maybe its by content?

Tested the content thing by putting in a Sherlock pwp I'm working on (don't give me a look, sometimes you just need to write stuff like that), fully expecting to get Doyle because of the names or an erotic writer because of...well, and got Stephen King...which is one of the usual ones I get on that site (it's usually between him and Poe), so I think it's probably word choice, sentence structure, etc?

---

Lil rant: WHY CAN'T I RUDDY FINISH ANYTHING ANYMORE?! ...that's all.

Pwp? Step your game up and do porn with plot :cool:.

I know how you feel sis. I have 6 more pages for chapter 2 but i can't start for some reason.

Either way today's the day im gonna get it done.

It has a plot...it's just not a very involved plot and mainly involves someone being a voyeur and the other being an exhibitionist. >_> -innocent whistling- Actually, 2/3 of it has an actual plot, it's just the end that's decidedly...not. >_>

Oh, gods, I know that feel. I hope your writing goes well and you're able to make a lot of progress!

Haha, I screwed up and now have 50 open projects. Haha, f me I'm never gonna finish all this. Isn't life swell?

On a non-sarcastic note: got organised, made some lists, getting some snacks and tea, so maybe I'll at least get done with all the things I want to work on. Really not looking forward to some of these, though. Funny how I told everyone I was taking the year off all Fable projects except Blackout and the Labyrinth fic but most of my recent prompts were for Fable and I'm worried I'm going to burn myself out on the fandom. At the same time, if I don't work on them, I'm going to still have way too many things open. So my hands are pretty tied. But. I'm just gonna draw fics randomly and fingers crossed it works out well.

@Shadow Oh, shoot, I forgot you'd said that. ^^; Sorry. You seriously don't have to do the prompt I sent over Tumblr. I could switch that just as easily to Sherlock, and give you the pairing of your choice? ^^;

@Rebel Dynasty Ah! I wasn't grr at you, sorry if it sounded like that. I was just...kinda bitter in general. Sorry. Uh...if you want to resend it with "any pairing" instead of a specific one, that'd be helpful? But if you're really set on V/R, I can give it a go. I'm just not sure how good it'll be. I just feel really worn thin with the fandom--too many requests for content and not enough to kinda...feed my creativity in return. If that makes sense.

It's okay, I didn't take it as personally against me. I just figured you must've gotten a lot at the same time, and I'd hate for you to be burned out on it or feel like you have to do something you're not fully invested in. Gods know I couldn't write stuff like this on command. Sure, I could do that! ^^ The idea of it happening within Sherlock is every bit as intriguing, so it's a win-win. ^^

Here I am making sketches and notes and plotting my little brain out for CoD... for over 2 weeks now.... I finally open the document to get started last night. And it kinda felt like somebody just stabbed me through the brain right down through my heart. Fudging Office! Screw you and your stupid greedy ass. I'm still so upset I can't even talk to hubby about it because I don't want to burst into tears. I'm sure he can fix it, or has a product key for me, or something, but fudge do I hate Office right now.

I did the dishonorable thing and split chapter 2 into more than one part. It originally was gonna be a 2 parter but now it's 3. Granted someone left a comment saying she adored it so...sorry not sorry.

I started watching clips from "Big Little lies" because of Zoe Kravitz and thought of a fanfic where her character was revealed to be V's ex-girlfriend from college. Her character is a single mom with a daughter in the show but I'm not sure if V should be the dad.

I feel like I've been on and off with writing/editing a lot this past year, but considering I still managed to be pretty damn productive in 2018, I'm not going to kick myself as hard as I usually do. I think this is a good time to just absorb the things I need to absorb; leisure reading, gaming, getting out a bit more--it's all fuel for the proverbial fire, and I'm likely to be incredibly productive as a result. And besides, I have that writing craft book to read too, once I'm done the trilogy I'm currently reading, and that in itself should make my next batch of edits easier. Or if not easier, at least result in transforming my WIPs in ways I previously was incapable of.

+Ooh, Fiverr might be a good way to go when I'm ready to have the next book covers done. That is a good deal more affordable than the average rates, that's for sure.

I completed both the Aaron Sorkin and the Neil Gaiman masterclasses.

I feel bad that I haven't been able to work on my original fiction in a while.

I think you know you're ready to write an original fiction instead of fanfiction is when you start focusing more on your OCs and you stop needing the established characters/lore as a safety net.
