Just 35 days after Superman released in theaters, James Gunn rushed the movie to streaming.
“So Peacemaker is coming out now, and, at the end of the day, I wanted everyone to be able to see Superman that wanted to, even those people who couldn’t get to a theater before Peacemaker. And that’s really the reason for it.”
Peacemaker Season 2 is positioned as the direct follow-up to Superman and John Cena's character cameos in the movie. Time to get excited to watch the next entry in the DCU, right?
Nah, actually, the first episode of the new season has an orgy scene in it.
So, like... aside from a brief blip in a completely separate interview where he has one single line acknowledging that Peacemaker is "for adults, not children", where does he think he's going to get the viewership from if he's alienating a major part of the audience that watched Superman? And this is after the massive fumble of "opening" this new universe with Creature Commandos, another R-rated project.
