I'll just get right to the ass kicking.
Supporter 2014
Jesus tap dancing Christ the Game Awards were 200 flavors of sh*t, nothing even remotely worth a damn and a damn insulting GOTY winner.
But it's still that time of the year where we list the games we loved, the games we didn't and the game's we're looking forward to next year.

I don't really have much to list as I've pretty much given up on modern gaming and gone back to buying older consoles, revisiting favorite classics and playing some old games I missed out on.
I did play other 2018 games like Soul Calibur 6, Fist of the North Star and such, but I haven't played enough of them to form an opinion yet.
I haven't managed to play Yakuza 6 yet either as I still haven't gotten around to finishing Yakuza 5 yet.

Rules:
Your Best and worst have to be 2018 releases and your hyped have to have confirmed 2019 releases, so as much as I'm looking forward to them, there's no Doom Eternal or Cyberpunk 2077 here.

Here's mine:
The Good:
Red_Dead_Redemption_II.jpg

Disappointed that it's gameplay is just a copy of the original game so it still has the flaws of the first game, but I still enjoyed the game very much and Arthur Morgan is a fantastic character, it's the only 2018 release that I actually played all the way through.

So that's the only good for me.

The Bad:
Monster_Hunter_World_cover_art.jpg

Game was dead to me the moment I saw it had timed missions.

God_of_War_4_cover.jpg

Stuff like this makes me believe gaming isn't worth fighting for anymore.

The Hyped:
RE2_remake_PS4_cover_art.png

When it was first revealed I was nervous, but the game has been putting my worries to rest the closer it gets to release.

Devil_May_Cry_5.jpg

I've been waiting 10 years for this sh*t and was a part of the push back against DmC and am so proud to be part of a fanbase that was willing to fight that disgrace of a decision, this game means a great deal to me.

330px-Days_Gone_Logo.jpg

I love the Walking Dead and this game seems just like the Daryl Dixon simulator I can enjoy.

Rage_2_cover_art.jpg

Not really hyped for it, but I do wanna play this, however you can bet your ass I'm on alert against Bethesda after this sh*t they pulled with that other game.

330px-Ion_maiden_logo.jpg

I used to respect the hell outta 3D Realms, but their new CEO has got to get his ego in check cause he's getting on my nerves, however their new Build based FPS seems to be pretty damn cool, despite the fact that it's female lead is as generic and by the book as one could possibly be, still it's being developed by a team of Duke4.net members and other developers(I think even the guy who made that HDOOM mod), so I'm looking forward to this.

Yeah not much of a list for me as I've gone back to my PS2/Xbox/PS3/Xbox360/PC games for the most part this year, games these days are just too slow, artsy and full of leftist politics and scummy business tactics for me now.

Still what are your favorite, least favorite and most hyped games?

Honestly, God of War earned GOTY, and the show was quite decent compared to the last few showings. Keep in mind, I have a low opinion of the GA for the most part. At least God of War is a complete package game with no DLC or microtransx bullsh@t. The game ain't perfect, but I thought it was a great game. Like RE4, God of War 4 took risks. Now there can be defenite improvements for the next game (for the love of God, a jump button), but overall it a worthy title. Red Dead barely deserved any of its awards. I am hype for Mortal Kombat 11, Rage 2, DMC5, and that new game from the creators of the original Fallout.

My most dissapointing thing from GA is the lack of Bayonetta 3 from Nintendo. It's been a whole year since the teaser.

Blasphemy on God of War. It deserves all the praise it gets. GOTY? Deserved.

It took risks, but it's actually a good game. I was a little concerned about the direction towards norse, but once I saw screenshots and gameplay, I was on board. Once I played it, I was thinking "those screenshots, gameplay footage did not have any justice." It looks gorgeous once you load the game. I was blown away. Next thing on my mind was the controls. Next thing on my mind was how intense the game is once you go very far, like that room where you have to battle each enemy you faced earlier. That had "time travel" written all over it, but it was actually the zones.

Cory's artistic direction was amazing that the award given to him was more than well deserved. I can't wait to see what he does with God of War 2 or whatever the next GOW title is called. I can't wait to fight Thor. I hope it is as epic as the room.

It drives me nuts thinking that people have negative comments about the game. Okay, maybe I am being over dramatic, but the game is just - out of this world for me. I've been following the series since the beginning, and the game was very good. Better than I expected it to be.

For me, and seeing how the sales performed - it's the epitome of a game that's worth fighting for.

The controls may be a tad bit lacking, but that's to be expected with the first game of a new series. Remember, this is a reboot, and a continuation of a series. It's not one thing, it's both. We still don't even know what happened to Kratos after he was taken in the cliffhanger of GOW3. Or even who Atreus' mother is. I don't remember Kratos referencing her by name. Not in this game, or previous titles, so what the **** happened here...? I'm guessing this is being saved for a climax as shown in the ending to God of War [4/Reboot].

The Good:

The Crew 2, Black Ops 4, Gravel, Slime Rancher (released for PS4 this year)

The Bad:

None!

The Okay:

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Kirby Star Allies, Onrush

The Hype:

DMC5, Resident Evil 2, Onimusha Remake, SO MANY OTHERS.

This year was pretty meh to me, for new releases, but I'm not complaining because I got to clear a bunch of games out of my backlog. Next year looks amazing! So many great games on the way.

The time limit in Monster Hunter World is barely a factor. Plus, said time limit is usually around 50 minutes to an hour, so if it takes you that long to kill your target monster, you either don't have good gear or you aren't playing right.

Plus you can practice in unlimited time expeditions, too, and get materials and such that way.

Doesn't matter if it's 50 minutes or 5 hours, if there's a time clock ticking down in the background I'm always thinking about, I can't get immersed in the game.
I'm the exploring kind and just wanna let my mind loose in the world.

It's the same reason as to why I hate that high ranks are often tied to how quick you can complete a mission in other games and despise the elusive targets in the new Hitman games.

That's fine, though the game doesn't rank you based on time taken to complete the hunt. It's more just there to make sure you don't cheese the enemies with cheap tactics.

And, again, there are the expeditions that have no time limit and continuously spawn different monsters, so if you want you could just get to a certain point in the story and then just do those. It doesn't have much of a story anyway.

The Good
Red_Dead_Redemption_II.jpg

I had my doubts, because prequel. But in the end I had great time with game and I enjoyed every second of it. Great story, immersive world and great world

Soulcalibur_VI_cover_art.jpg

Another pleasant surprise. Namco finally made good fighting game again, after their underwhelming Tekken 7

Darksiders_3_Box_Art.png

I was half expecting it to be poor budget title, but was surprised that in the end it held pretty strong together and I had more fun with it than with second one.

220px-Octopath_Traveler.jpg

Great title, great music. I'm suggesting it for all fans of oldschool JRPGs

The Bad
220px-Vampyr_cover.jpg

Game is simply unpolished mess. It's not fun to play, story is underwhelming and graphic downgrade is colossal. On scale of Watch Dogs.

220px-God_of_War_4_cover.jpg

Not much bad, but rather very disappointing and forgetable. Story, which is widly praised, was in my opinion barely existent and poorly stitched together, while combat was terribly subpar with awfull camera on top.

The Hyped

No comments. It's finally almost here. My biggest hype since YEARS :O

After "I want to be youtube jumpscare fest" RE7, RE2 seems to be back on good track for me.

220px-Cover_Art_of_Metro_Exodus.png

Love Metro games. Can't wait to play new one.

220px-Sekiro_art.jpg

Anything from Souls makers are instant buy for me, so I can't wait to pick it :)

220px-Kingdom_Hearts_III_box_art.jpg

And another long awaited title for me. Can't believe it's almost upon us.

mortal-kombat-1149147.jpeg

Mortal Kombat 11. Another franchise I can always be on track with quality stuff. So can't wait for it as well.
