Stylish Nero's Future Version of DmC2 (Characters)

as soon as you said no kat i quit reading, lucia and arius over kat?

Kat is still there....well not physically but in memory somewhat like Sparda in DmC.

She sends Dante flowers and gifts from time to time but I was just thinking due to a reason (probably her being too busy) she she stops sending him stuff and this plays a role in his inner depression.

The whole point in having Beatrice, Lucia, and Nero/Rodin and even Phineas are to have characters that Dante can relate to and establish bonds with that are not just human to help Dante grow more as a character and see the bigger picture than trying to relate to mankind. I mean there is oh so far you grow as a character through the interaction of one 1 human female.

Well I was going to mention that the game takes place 3-5 years after DmC so a lot of time has passed and I can't spend too much time (in cutscenes).

Well I guess I wasn't clear about Dante being envious of Nero due to Nero being part human, something Dante wished his was (reference to the ending of DmC when Vergil told he could never be human since he never was human) since after Kat left to do her own thing Dante began to feel alone and not have much to any human interaction anymore and due to his dedication of slaying demons all he ever does is kill demons and soon he realized he is becoming more demonic as time passes as his demon side is corrupting his angel half.

Plus this relates back to how DmC never explored his angel half at all and since the game is well called Devil May Cry I used that as a way to explain it wasn't explained at all as a way to signify the angel half was never relevant and tie the 2 warring races together as how in the old DMC and well......religion a demon was just a corrupted angel and what if a plot point in DmC was Dante or nephilim's angel becomes corrupted allowing them to fully realize their full power and surpass even a demon king and this also explains why Mundus were afraid of Nephilims and how they were the only ones who can kill him apparently despite not being shown a more interesting feat of the Nephilim (especially through Dante and Vergil) that can slay Mundus and uses Argosax as how this prime hysteria started.

I would recommend not staying with the formula of linear 20 missions because that limits your ability to go in deep with a story so developing the gameplay outside of combat and providing more replay incentives outside the expierence which is a problem with the genre today.

allowing the player a chance to explore the world on their own terms would allow them to get attached and invested in the setting which i think would have helped both DMC4/DmC. So maybe leaving the social unrest over the fallout to side missions might help.

I do like your take on Nero and feel that introducing him in earlier games/anime and allowing players to get to know him before having to play him like Rock Howard in King of fighters would have helped him.

I think what Kat is doing could be covered in DLC but can also be in used in game to have the enemies play on Dante's insecurities by having a demon shapeshift into Kat and screw with him.

But giving Kat a chance to have her own little arc and to deal with her own issues might cool and give Kat some backbone plus arent the best partnerships are the ones that can stand apart?

Maybe she left to go find out more about her own family history or learn about witchcraft and get more offensive powers or training etc.
