Kept you waiting, huh?
You know, it's just hit me that I've been a member of this place for just over two years and it entirely slipped my mind to make some kind of momentous occasion type thread, so I'm gonna have some sort of crack at it now.
I came to this place at a relatively low point in my life, honestly I just arrived here by chance, I was lurking around for some measure of Devil May Cry community to socialise with through Google one day and I stumble across this place, I think I probably lurked for about 2 weeks before I actually did join, and right off the bat everyone made me feel immediately welcome, the place was huge back then, insanely active and it was much like it is now, a huge family of people who come here to discuss a common interest and many of those people welcomed me with open arms.
I gotta admit, my start here was a little bit rickety, some of my first posts actually involved a fan fiction I'd had in the works for quite some time and I must say, if it weren't for the encouragement of one Lord of Darkness (Who is sadly no longer an active member of the community), I probably would have left quite some time ago.
Then there was Sparda, and despite the odd bickering/falling out we used to have, he was one of the most welcoming members I've come across, he too pretty much convinced me to stay and I'd like to think that, everything aside, it was him and LoD that gave me a reason to stick around this place.
Then I got friendly with other members around the place, Keaton before he turned mod (And trust me, nothing has changed there :lol
, as well as the admins, and people like Vauxchen, One Winged Angel, Evil Nero and god knows how many other people. All these people I became good friends with and all these people were like an online family to me, I got to know a lot of people, and I started to love the place more and more, to the point where rarely a day went by without me logging in for a few hours just to keep up with how everyone was doing.
I was there when Keaton got offered the chance to become a mod and I was one of the many people who put his name forward for the job, I was happy when he got it, there was never a more deserving person on the board than him, always helpful, always friendly, always supportive despite his own issues, he's been nothing short of a spectacular person to become acquainted with in the time I've been here.
Then just under a year down the line, another position opened up and frankly, I was amazed when so many people recommended me for the job, didn't really have to think twice when I got the offer from Dark Drakan, it was a great chance to help out the community I'd grown quite so attached to.
Since then, it's all been a bit...Well, meshed into one to be honest, good friends have come and gone, people I miss, people I still talk to, one thing remains though is the fact that with each passing week, new members join whom I become quite friendly with, there are newer people around who have been nothing short of friendly, honest members and have been a pleasure to have around and I'm glad to call them friends, and glad to have them here.
Off the top of my head, those people, incase you're interested or want a bit of an ego boost, are: DreadnoughtDT, Clairvance, Incomplete Dani, BlueDevil, Tonks, Resa Moon, Ebony, Vergil'sB*tch and several others.
So...Yeah, I suppose to summarise I just want to say thank you, out of all the forums I've ever been a part of, this one has been the best and it's been an absolute pleasure being here.
Now excuse me while I go vomit before my body fully absorbs my testicles.
