For a second, time stood still. Leon felt the world around him slow as before, but this time it was not his own doing. He lay there for what felt like an hour, a trickle of blood slowly running from the side of his mouth.
Then suddenly, time sped up again, and the pain set in. Wrenching agony in his chest, and he thought he was going to die. And then he heard a voice, speaking to his mind.
"The blood of the demon calls to me. I, Raizek, have awakened."
There was a cracking sound, as a line appeared, carving its way down the side of the blade. It reached the hilt, and then suddenly the blade slit vertically across its flat side, and the two halves seperated. Within the gap, blue fire burst into life, filling the void between them, an eternal flame, the blade filled with dark energy, It pulled itself from Leon's heart, and hovered above him.
Leon put his hands to the floor to push himself to his feet, as he did so he realised his arms were jet black. He looked down, his chest was healed and bare, his skin dark as coal. He got to his feet, and grabbed the blade's handle. He could feel the power resonating between them. His hair, longer than he remembered, blew backwards as he held the blade, as if he was walking in a hurricane, but he felt no resistance.
He walked towards Kaos, his sword in hand.
His voice was distorted and sounded like it was two voices combined. He raised the sword to Kaos.
"This is not the end for me."
He ran straight as Kaos, his sword blazing.
