/sarcasm

But seriously, thank you for this information. ^^

HALF AND HALF?!!!! How dare NT do that!!!!!1111oneononeone

^Despicable.

Honestly though, weren't fans already complaining about Dante being half demon/half angel in this game? XD

They were, but the info was not official and the statement was false - meaning that at the time, Tameem Antoniades had only said Dante had an angel and demon FORM, and NOT that he was half-angel/demon.

However, it is now officially stated that Dante is indeed half-angel/demon, so now the whiners have a valid reason to whine about it.

ah soo ninja theory finally cleared that up for us, well thanks for the info deamonslayerR, since this is a different approach to devil may cry im not upset by the decision to make dante half angel, since it doesn't affect the main storyline, afterall this is a re-imagining

SPeak up, We can all hear you.
It doesnt really change anything because there isnt anything about the story that can be changed.
this is a pre-re-imagining-boot right?
so now anything goes

Lets hope NT doesnt go too far out there. I can understand Dante being half angel. It would have to be all about his mother. Maybe she died at birth and became an angel and granted Dante the angelic form and his father, well yea, he gave his mom somethin too, which in turn, gives dante demonic powers.
strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrretch:confused:

im sure with ninja theory's ability to tell stories there's a reason they made dante half angel, and im sure it will be a great story to dive into

really glad that everyone knows now that hes half angel and demon. but i rather thought it would've been best if it was by form but seriously even in a reimaginig this sucks. my only worry's are if they continue the franchise in this direction :(

At first I was about to take this information seriously, but then I actually did read the writing.

"The Dante of DmC is a young man discovering and coming to terms with what it means to be the child of a demon and an angel".

He's coming to terms with what it's like to be the child of a demon and an angel. Angels are more human than demons are, they can choose to display human emotions (They have the ability to love and care and cry). Demons aren't meant to hold kind human emotions, as Devil May Cry states lots of times. Demons hold impure thoughts and don't care about their actions, they seek to destroy what's around them and cause harm to humanity because it does not belong to them. What makes angels more human is that like us, they have the ability to choose what it is they want. It's like Sparda, he stopped and realised he didn't want to hurt humanity. He rebelled against his own kind. He did something that demons wouldn't usually do, he made his own path and actually started to feel emotions that he wasn't really meant to feel.

Dante in this is coming to terms with his demon and angel powers. It does not state that his mother was a full angel now did it? And would a full angel really mean no human side? We don't know how Ninja Theory are defining what it's like to be an angel, so we can't say "well it just makes Dante half angel". And also not to mention, when Sparda was wandering the human World he was becoming more human. So he wouldn't of been a full demon when he had the twins with Eva. This would still mean that Dante would have a human side to him (In some way, shape or form) So no, I don't believe this confirms that he's half and half.

I think we all know Ninja Theory mentioned that Dante still has a human form. They mentioned this in an interview after that information was posted on the website (I believe).

What I think is Dante will be in his human form until he activates his 'devil' or 'angel' trigger. He could be more human, more demon or more angel. But to me, he still is human also. Whatever one he is the most, we won't know as of yet. I'm going to think he's more demonic this time around, which to me would make sense.

ok nice explanation but its actually ur opinion right now we dont know **** about this game and the only piece of information was on there site. seriously i would like a freaking story trailer by now to get some understanding

When i first read about the new theory of NT for their Dante, i was like, "Yeah you muddle-headed idiots, you've done a great job by just changing his human side into an angelic side. You sure know how to ruin one of the best franchises." Well that was me before reading your post. I know it's just your opinion, but gotta say this, you got a sky-high intellect. Everything you said makes perfect sense to me :)

I used to lol when you were like "Taneem said he has ANGEL POWERS, doesn't mean he's half angel!!" XDDDDD!!

I was merely stating the truth. Though people interepreted what T.A. had said as "Dante is a half-angel/devil", then he actually never said that. That their interepretation turned out to be true is just lucky for them.

If this is true, it won't be true for long. The whole point of the series is that its Dante's humanity makes him stronger than pure demons. Since this is a prequel I HIGHLY doubt Ninja Theory would completely undermine the entire series like this. Capcom was making this game hoping to patch up some gaps in the storyline, not tear open new ones. Also they say "The Dante of Dmc", implying its possibly a different Dante. Or possibly I'm just spitballing sad, pointless ideas because this information depresses me so much I can only handle it through denial.

Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it. My post was merely my own opinion though. But to be honest, I'm going on one thing I know about DMC and another thing I know about DmC. Firstly, I know that Ninja Theory confirmed that Dante does have a human form. And secondly, I know that from DMC, Dante had a human form. I don't think they would of changed it that drastically to be honest with you. Ninja Theory haven't erased Dante's human form. He is displayed as human in the trailers. If he was half angel and half demon, he'd look like some sort of hybrid (With non-human features). So to me, if he was truly 'half and half' he wouldn't even have a human side/human form to him. His supposed human features wouldn't be visible to us. At least, they wouldn't be to me.

From what I know about Devil May Cry, Sparda was becoming more human-like from having lived in the human World for a long period of time. From having felt human emotions and actually caring about humanity. And from sealing away some of his demonic power, meaning that he made himself less demon and became more human as a consequence. Dante however is the exact opposite to his father. He was born half human, half demon, and he grows up trying to be more in touch with his demonic side so he can defeat evil. Dante in fact becomes more demonic, but still keeps his human emotions. So in a sense, Dante was trying to become like his father was at the moment in time his father decided to rebel.

My final overall opinion on this, is that I can't see Ninja Theory just saying 'he's half and half'. All the source confirmed to me was that he's the child of a demon and an angel. All that changes to me is that his mother wasn't human (But then again as I stated earlier, who's to say angels aren't part human .etc).
