Fps have nothing to do with speed though... it has to do with smoothness, which is something totally different. Like, for example, if I dropped DMC4 to 30 fps, the gameplay will be just as fast but would look odd sometimes because the game was made to run at 60 and you are literally cutting 30 frames of animation. To put it in a more exaggerated version, I can make DMC4 drop to 2 fps and keep the speed the same.... though the only thing you will see on the screen would be a picture of Dante starting an attack and then another one of him finishing it, lol, the attack happens at the same speed, you just can't see any of it.
Darksiders2's combat was much better than 1. But it was rather simplistic and the leveling up system sort of took away all requirements to truly master it. I played in Apocalyptic mode and there was no enemy in the world that could beat me once I was like level 15 or so... I could just mash as much as I wanted and kill enemies in two hits or so.... nvm combo anything.
