I do not know, whether this is the comic, that Kamiya worked on and if it is, I don't know, if it's considered general canon.

Clarification: Yes, Kamiya worked on the Manga, Volume One and supervised the author.
Kamiya made Dante a drunk/ the author made him a drunk and Kamiya didn't want it to be cut out.

This is when you quoted me and told me about Dante being drunk. Where in the post have you said that Kamiya had any role in it?

First of all: Dante became so drunk once, he got married to a mop. Get your fluff straight.
Second of all: We might assume that new Dante is not anywhere near old Dante's supernatural potential and the smoking got cut out; Let's assume it didn't, would it hurt him?

It seems your not sure if Kamiya is behind making Dante drunk. But you know that Kamiya supports guy behind it.
Either way if it´s Kamiya or not who wanted to show Dante being drunk, it´s flawed that he can get drunk.
Just saying it´s flawed, not saying he can´t get drunk because as you have said Kamiya the creator seems to think that Dante can get drunk. And Kamiya made Dante so i can just shut up

Perhaps the drunk thing in Manga is there to make Dante a bit more fun character? I mean if he doesn´t get drunk funny things like marrying a mop wouldn´t happen

To create the illusion of staying on-topic: The old DMC-series can just be canceled for all I care. It's not up-to-date or funny anymore, time for something new.

I think he needs to breath (I saw many fighting scenes in DMC3 where he breathes intensely)

I stopped believing he needs to breath, when you could stand in the water for days next to the shipwreck in DMC1.

Off topic. The game has no continuity from dmc1 through dmc4. From story line to Dantes personality. The canon is what you make of it really. The anime, I thought, was canon, but if only the games are concidered canon, then dante has no ice cream addiction. And whats wrong with smoking if it does nothing to you? Maybe Dante didnt want to feel different and decided to take up a human addiction to fit in? But to dante smoking has the same effect as chewing gum probably.
On topic. It really al depends on DmC's sales, but the last thing I want to see is a game about backtracking and flashbacks.

Editante may not get **** faced like I do after a whole bottle of jack, but he is still half human and maybe it only gets him tipsy. The fact that he lost his whole family is a sad but good reason to drink your sorrows away. Especially if it wont kill ya

I think the only direction left is too address is to make DMC5 about Dante's adventures in Hell after dmc2. Add Nero/ Lucia in as alternate playable characters and they are searching for Dante but some evil crap goes down forcing them to digreess. Add in plot arcs about unresolved questiions, like who is nero's dad.

The main problem with dmc is that it's directors are a bunch of prima donnas who don't want to follow anyone else lead. So it has no direction or a disjointed one. So I would suggest to cap com to find someone who would fix this mess.

Step 1 :go back in time
Step 2 :find dante alighieri and take him to modern day time
step 3 : teach him modern day english and have him play all the games
step 4 : Dante fixes mess
Step five : PROFIT!!!
