Ok, while playing the demo after about 100 times to find new combos, I began to get extremely tired of hereing the same sountrack from Combichrist. There isn't anything wrong with their music, but its not realoy my taste. I found out I could play all my music on my PS3 while playing the demo. My music helped me get the groove of playing the game, and I performed combos I didn't know was possible. Anyway, I recommend you all download any music to your PS3, so you could find your rythm and truly have fun. Its always fun to kick someone's ass to a song you like.

Is this automatic, or do you have to disable the music in the game and stuff? Personally, I think it would be pretty sick to get some Mars Volta going to get really crazy with it, among other things. There's a lot of suitable music to choose from for pelting demons to dust.

EDIT* Wasnt aware that you couldnt do this in every game on PS3 still, carry on...

Why only PS3? You can do the same thing on 360, used to put songs on memory stick (Dont like cluttering my memory on anything) then tweak in game volume in settings so I could still hear voice overs & cutscenes but have music in the background too.
It's because you can do it on 360 for every game but not on the PS3. It's Capcom'spolicy to never allow people to use their own music on the PS3, try it. This must be NT's doing.

Ahhh that explains it my mistake as I had forgotten this, thought it was a common thing for every game that id become accustomed to doing on 360. I forgot that you couldnt do it on every game on the PS3 & just presumed that they would have updated this by now. Lots of game companies give you the ability to mute their own soundtracks via the in game options so I dont see why they make a big deal out of people using their own music instead as surely that a better alternative.

Thanks for the reminder though. ^_^

Okay, maybe im not AS confused anymore but here is what I am getting from this:

You cannot do this with every game on ps3 but you CAN do this on DmC. am I correct?

I sound really stupid don't I? yes I do. God I'm dumb sometimes lol. Forgive me guys

How do I go about doing this then?

In SSX and Burnout, I could just select an artist or a playlist from my hard-drive. Is it the same case here?

That is what confused me at first so your not alone.

You can listen music on the PS3 the same time as playing a game? o_o I didn't know that. Why not just use a music player?

And I noticed you could go in the options for the DmC demo and turn the music off completely.I did it once xp just played through with no music. Took me back to the first Tomb Raider for some reason where that game's soundtrack was non-existent. I'd recommend giving it a try just once, it's got a different atmosphere lol.

I also realised about changing music into played custom from PS3 harddrive, but well If I had not buyed too much games on PSN i should have spare space for music and now Im going to delete some games for trying demo again now with custom battle themes XD.

Thats why it seems odd to me to not allow custom music to be played in every game as most give you this option anyway

I always used Memory Sticks on my 360 for this reason, could easily add & remove music onto the device this way & save space too. I just dont like cluttering Hard Drives & prefer to be able to chop & change things easily, would work the same on PS3 I imagine & wouldnt have to delete anything to make space then.

Capcom have a policy of NOT allowing you to change you music!? Haha what? So stupid. After playing the demo twice on launch the fire thing I did; before even rebinding my buttons, was to mute the music. It's so....generic and bland.

Yes, I have 1200 on my ps3 hard drive, and i can play all my music while playing the demo. Its pretty much guaranteed you can do this on the full game.

If we end up fighting any previous characters (Mundus or even perhaps Vergil, who knows?), you could even use their old battle theme while you fight them, which might be hilarious given the impression this game is trying to leave.

I can see myself playing pretty much any action game with Locked n' Loaded, though.

If the basic concept this thread is about (playing your own music while playing the game) applies to both PS3 and 360 why does the thread say PS3 users only?

Because as Berto pointed out above the PS3 doesnt allow this feature in all of its games like the 360 does. So its more of a big deal that this particular demo & maybe game does allow it.

I listen to my MP3, always seems more fun killing demons while listening to Tenpole Tudor (swords of 1000 men especially :P )
