platinum game's or ninja theory for future DMC.

PLATINUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!!!!!!!! Kamiya has visitation rights to his son...and daughter...and his horde of demonic children...and the one he didn't know about...and Nero :D

*sigh* something tells me this thread is gonna turn into a flame war
but personally i would just like it if capcom works on the game themselves

Ridiculous and absurd..this had nothing to do with NT going to Capcom, it was Capcom going to NT....And from what I've seen, I like this DMC so I'm fine with NT doing it....Platinum Games, eh I've played some good ones and some bad ones by them and I feel that if we give them ALL of this credit for games they haven't made (seriously "they would do so much better" is a fallacy because we don't know how they'd do with a DMC game). Haters gotta start hating in the right places. If you really want top quality hack-and-slash AND storytelling, I say look into Sony Santa Monica and Ready At Dawn. I'm sorry, but the God of War games blew the genre right out of the water.
who said it had something to do with nt going to capcom.and yes DmC looks fantastic right now.seeing how awesome metal gear rising looks i asked if DmC (i hope not) fails than should PG takeover or if it even goes good would u still like to see nt making it or PG

Well, supposedly capcom went to NT.

i just want to see this game come out. Afterwards can sort itself out later.

MGS rising looks nothing like dmc. The gameplay looks cool but its nothing compared to the combat of DmC. The cut scenes are the only thing that looks like dmc, but in reality its more like mgs4.
Bayonetta, to me, has the best gameplay to date in the hack n slash genre. But the story is so lame, to many forgettable characters and the graphics were similar to early ps3 games.
NT needs to make DmC difficult and rewarding right along side of great combat. I think the combat is there and the story, but well see how hard it is. In past NT games, like heavenly sword, I still haven't beat hell mode. And if DmC has that level of difficulty. I hope NT will continue.
PG's make arcade like games, which make their games gave replayability.
NT make movie like games that draw you in with emotions.
I choose PG's because I love their gameplay
I choose NT because I love action movies =D

Well...they really shouldn't if Capcom doesn't ask them...that's rather arrogant of PG to assume that...that's all I'm saying...like I said, there are so many hack-and-slash companies, why are we narrowing it to these specific ones? All I care about are more good DMC games...I don't care who makes them...if NT fails AND Capcom says "Hey we don't want you" then I don't care who they choose...if NT succeeds, then of course I want them to continue, since they should get the credit and that privilege.

what u say about god of war:eek:
i was saying it in a good way...i love those games...i was saying the GoW games upped the ante a bit....

Not sure if it's been pointed out but unless I missed something P* had nothing to do with the MetalGear series.

But yes, P*.

I just saw the end of the trailer. I did not know that P* was involved. Yeah!!! I'm loving it!

there is no reason for Capcom to go to another company if they are going to create more games in the original continuity. the series has changed a lot since DMC1 so hiring Platinum games to make a Devil May Cry game would just make Devil May Cry's storyline even more confusing. Capcom has to fix the story themselves.

as a big metal gear fan(i came here hoping someone made a thread like this) i am dissapointed by the direction that was taken with metal gear solid rising, BUT i have no big disdain for it like i did for DmC, one thing i can count on with platinum games is "solid" and complex combat/gameplay

EDIT-- oh, i pick PG, BUT(yea again) i'd hope for them to work with some other team or something just to stop them going overboard with the so called "epicness" and help with a solid storyline

You're seem to be misunderstanding the situation. The reason why we say Platinum Games or Ninja Theory is because Platinum Games used to be the producers of DMC games. Back then, they worked with Capcom alot under the name Clover Studios and gave Capcom some of their best- rated, yet poorly- sold titles. You should have heard of Okami and Viewtiful Joe, so you are probably somewhat familiar with their work if you haven't the games themselves. So basically the question is "would you rather have the old guys work on DMC games, or the new guys?"

By the way, in terms of gameplay, I prefer DMC over GOW (and I'm a major GOW fan by the way), and the stories are pretty much tied since GOW went from "I, Kratos, am a sad, depressed warrior" to "I'm going to **** everything up and not give a damn!" while DMC just went through alot of crap.

Even thought i am mixed of platinum games doing mgr because they arent exactly great storytellers, i do admit that they havent made the same PR mistakes that Capcom has done.

But with Marvel or DC, you got guys who are used to dealing with complicated/convoluted histories and revamping characters making them compelling again with setting up arcs.

**** devil may cry needs.

And if the two get together and do a DMC , the Plantium could work to make the gameplay , and Ninja Theory the story , the art , etc . The result would be interesting.
