Photoshop image effects and pic problems

I've just brought Photoshop a week ago and I've already made 4 sigs. But I'm not so good at image effects. Can you link me a tutorial video please? Rep+ back. And also when I make some pictures when I finnish them it appears some dots on the pic. Look at my 2nd sigart. What's the problem?

Tutorial vids are on youtube. I'd link you, but I don't know how much you need. Plus, I can't really get to youtube right now.
Those dots might be because of a lower resolution. As I don't use Photoshop properly, I can't say.

A little advice, use the magnet tool, and crop out the items you want rather than using the block images.

Man, I wish YouTube was back around in the day when I was learning Photoshop. Aside from video tutorials, I'd definitely recommend checking out websites like tutorial9.net, pixel2life.com, good-tutorials.com, psdtuts.com. They're all brilliant websites really.
