I read this topic and am like, wait what?
Did people really expect answers or meaningful content in the SE?
Look at the DMC3SE, it gave us 1 (yes one) Vergil Cutscene, which was almost completely ripped from the DMC3 Manga. The SE was only supposed to give people some new gameplay to enjoy and a few new action scenes to watch and that was pretty much clear from the get go.

I mean I get that people are starved for something new in regards of DMC (or the H&S genre in general), I am too, but this is just, well I don't know. Just my 2 cents on the matter, don't mind me.

Well, actually two, but I get what you mean.

Exactly.

They did stress this out quite a bit during the marketing campaign. The only explanation I can come up with is that some people didn't keep up with the news regarding the SE otherwise they would have known the focus was meant to be the gameplay, as stated multiple times.

Yes, after the mess they created a little more wouldn't be too much.

In DMC3Se nobody was waiting for controversial answers, much less for 8 LONG years, with a reboot into the mix. what we got in the end was some ridiculous cutscenes and that's it. This and the certitude questions will never be answered in the future games.
A cheap rip off did the same and it was fun to watch.

So, to get back on topic, does anybody speak legalese? Does the absence of copyright laws in China mean that the guys who did this shameless travesty of a ripoff are not gonna get sued? Like, are they gonna get away with it just like that?

No, China doesn't obey anyone. Has you ever check Aliexpress? They sell every kind of conterfeit items and it's perfectly legal there.
@Foxtrot94 , I found this for you:

Edit:
Lol, it seems this game is having success due to the fake Capcom trailer.When people found out main character reminded them of Vergil, people started to download it.
Site was even updated yesterday.
Character motto is " I don't want to antagonize anyone, but not dare to cross my path"
