Is Ninja Theory's direction appealing to you?

Don't be so sensitive. Just because others see it doesn't mean it is really there. I honestly think that there are people who want to see a similarity, so they try to find them. If you look hard enough for something then you're gonna find it.

I never said my opinion is better than others. And isn't that when you question some? When their answer doesn't make sense to you? If I just blindly accepted everything people tell me and not question anything then I'd be a drone. No thank you.

First I would like to say that I am not being sensitive. I never take what people write in a forum personal or all that seriously.
Second, you are right, when you look for something you can convince yourself that it is there. However, it works the other way around as well. When you simply refuse to see something that is there, you can't see it, because you have convinced yourself that it isn't there.

Your response to my answer gave a feel that you simply did not accept that I could see those things in the new Dante which made it seem like you found my answer and opinion to be lesser than your own.

Why question others when you won't accept their answers?
Questioning others when you won't accept their answers is normal. She's just prodding deeper into the subject, not trying to create a conspiracy.
I agree.

DMC has always had a more "darker" and "gothic" type of level design to it (minus DMC4).

These new areas are FAR to bright and colorful, it looks like something out of a kids coloring book IMO.

Doesn't really appeal to me at all.

The nighttime circus level did look a little "dark" but so far thats the only level I recall seeing with that kind of feel.
I hope that more levels like that dark circus show up. Just some horror elements to at least keep it true from the original source.

I actually did see the similarities at first. But the more I looked at it with an open mind the less I saw it and the more I thought it was a stretch.

And I don't think your opinion is lesser than my own. I just don't agree with it. It's called having a discussion. I'm sorry I don't say "oh what a valid point" before I respond with my own every time. But I don't think it's necessary. I don't know why a person on the Internet accepting/not accepting your opinion is such a big deal.

You know what, Asmo? It's obvious you don't like me much and quite frankly I'm not a fan of you either. Why don't we just agree to keep distance because whenever we talk we just butt heads and grind against each other. If you want to talk about this, or any other point you want to make, then PM me. But let's keep our arguing off the boards as much as possible. If it's getting tiring for me then imagine how annoying it is for the people who have to shift through yet another Meg/ZeroLove disagreement.

Asmo? What does that mean?

Asmo? What does that mean?

She thinks your a member who was banned from here not to long ago.

Not unfounded really, you have the same posting habits and style he does....

Not saying your him however, but just pointing that out...

Really? XD
Well, there you go. There's a good example on seeing what you want to see. I could say that I don't know who Asmo is and that I am not him/her, but then we would be in the same situation wether or not you guys are going to accept my answer or not. That Meg thinks I have something personal against her, that I dislike her, is wrong too. As I stated, I don't take things on a forum personally and I don't mean for other people to take what I say personally either. If they do, then that's not really my problem. That she dislikes me, that's not my problem either.

However, this is off-topic.
I see elements of the original Dante in the new Dante, but Ninja Theory have indeed made their own interpretation of him. If it was up to me, then the new Dante should be alot more punk than he is now, because as he is now, he's very pop, imo.

I don't think it's a matter of 'cool' or 'uncool' I think original Dante had a lot of cool to him, I just got tired of him after a while. That's not a jab at him, mind you. Capcom wanted a fresh take- not to say that one is actually better than the other.

It's like, if you eat a great meal- the same great meal- every day, then you'll get tired of it. Anyone else could find that meal great, but after so much, any recipe gets bland. That's when it gets supplanted, at least for a while, for something new. Until it is desirable again. This is true with any trend, style, even in relationships separation and change is sometimes necessary to keep things fresh.

70's Punk rock IS actually new to this generation because it has been gone for so long. Adding it's style to the melting pot that is Devil May Cry just gives more cultural flavor and adds another layer to the meal.

No one is saying old Dante is not cool just like no one is saying the Beatles aren't a great band. Just because a new style is taking it's place is more of a testament to the strength of the foundation that the original established. Long coat wearing, twin pistol packing, long sword wielding product of pop culture and all that comes with it.

The truth is DmC Dante is truly "Dante in name only" because the character is totally different from DMC Dante. How? Here is the best example:

DMC Dante is half human, half demon.
DmC is half angel, half demon.
By this example alone it shows that this "DMC" got a major revamp.

Enough Said.

I sent you a PM of the pic. Lol

Thanks Meg for bringing up the disco idea that led to this lol.
TOPIC: Wait how is DmC dante's clothes not from our era of "punk rock" or whatever it is?

Ironic because DmC was suppose to be more "darker" and serious, yet the city looks all bright and full of life compared to before he enters limbo. True, the circus is pretty dark looking and all, but I think the reason it's not dark enough to fit DMC's standards of area, is because Dante's not in Dark victorian castles, pitch black caves, or dark towers anymore.
