Opinion: Dante is No Major Loss

when he lost vergil and to add to that Dante was basically everything a boy wanted to
be as a kid

when he lost vergil and to add to that Dante was basically everything a boy wanted to
be as a kid yes, and now we are grown-ups and being lolsorandum is not really cool anymore to most of us.

kill stuff" Neanderthal of a character. Well, you can make anything sound ridiculous in that manner, don't you think? "Old Dante was a "me super-powers, me beat up **** in a flamboyantly corny way" Clown of a character.". Also the edgy and grimdark facette is way more believable than old Dante. Seriously: your whole family gets murdered in front of your eyes by demons, yet you develope into a extroverted flashy show-off? I don't think so. But then of course, we don't know new Dante's upbringing and background yet.

no he is not. Ninja Theory has not shown much of DmC Dante's personality because they are only showing gameplay trailers but what we have seen shows his personality is basically the same as the original Dante.(watch the trailers and listen to what Dante says)

I remember discussing things that had with Dante to do. But DmC Dante is not DMC Dante.

even if you disagree about this Dante acting like the original you still have to admit he is not a "me angry, me kill stuff neanderthal" as you put it.

and the original Dante isn't exactly nice to his enemies. stylish, flashy, brutality is not any nicer that more straightforward methods of causing pain and suffering.

the fact that his enemies deserve what happens to them doesn't change the fact that Dante causes his enemies a lot of unnecessary pain and suffering just for fun. if it was 100% about protecting humans he would kill demons in the quickest way possible. but this thread isn't really about that so any additional comments about the subject should probably be said in a thread about this topic(i think i remember seeing one but i can't find it.)

"Woah, never seen that happen before" after the city basically tore apart in front of him, revealing an endless abyss underneath didn't seem Dante-y to you?

That's exactly what happened when he fought Mundus. I would list Agni&Rudra, too, but the combat was initiated y them, so it doesn't count, really. Oh, yes, and he tried to shoot Arkham (as Jester), because he was talking too much.

I agree about alot of characters with touching moments but seeing someone lose a brother and shed tears trying to hide them is a little more unique than : "NOOOOOO MY FAMMMILLLY IS DDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!"

Ummmm.... You don't read many books or watch many good films do you? Besides, that ending was forced. also, the half human, half something else that slays said something else has already been done. It was nothing more than pure entertainment then and even less unique for any franchise after that.

But you're just doing your job (I read you're part of the staff), so I apologize and will try to follow the rules. I'm not reading that link, though. Seemed too wordy when I skimmed it and I'm a somewhat busy man.
