One Thing You Could Never Do As Vergil

Parrying.

When fought in DMC3, Vergil would auto-parry if you continue attacking after he staggers.

While all of Vergil's other moves are made available in the Special Edition version, he still lacks that one hand parry maneuver as a playable character.

I doubt that it would be added in Special Edition of DMC4.

What do you think about Vergil's parry?

Parrying's been around since DMC1 in one form or another. I think they'll have it some way shape or form throughout the game, probably in the same fashion as Dante can.

You could parry in DMC3 but it was by attacking at the same time as the enemy and clashing weapons

as for vergil's parry I would love it to be in the game especially when he spins yamato to block bullets and flicks em back

Oh look, a probably passive-aggressive remark about how you could parry in DmC, but couldn't in DMC3. Wow. Am I bovvered?

On topic, it'd be nice if they add parrying to DMC4 SE, but honestly, I don't think I ever missed it back when I played DMC3. And I played DMC3 for years. I find it more important for there to be cool, satisfying combos (preferably lots of them). Another thing DmC lacked, IMO. But anyway, it's possible they'll add parrying to DMC4 SE. They did say Vergil would have a few DmC combos... so if he could parry in DmC, who knows.

I'm pretty sure he couldn't parry in DmC when you played as him or the game did not tell you at all that you could since I played DmC: DE recently. The boss version of him could though.

As for the topic, I'd love for Vergil to be able to parry but I fail to see how you would be able to do that in terms of controls and how it would be any different from Royal Guard.

His move where he spins Yamato in order to block bullets would be kind of useless too, right? Only enemies which I can see it doing anything against are Assaults, Frosts, Echidna in her golden form when she shoots Chimera seeds, Dante, Savior when he shoots his homing orbs and Sanctus with his projectiles and that's only if you consider that it would be able to block projectiles other than bullets in the first place.

I think Itsuno was referring to the sword-warping abilities that DmC Vergil had.
It will be passed to the SE Vergil.

Dante's Windmill was kinda useful in getting weapon deflecting without strict timing.
The sword spin might be a more defensive version of Windmill.

It wasn't passive aggressive. why you startin' mess that don't need to be started?

It's the same with DmC Dante in that you can parry attacks.

The one thing I always wanted, I never got: the ability to taunt, as Vergil, by smoothing back his hair.

This isn't me joking, this isn't me being a fanboy...this NEEDS to happen. This is integral to Vergil as a character.

Aaaaand they gave that to Dante instead in DMC4... dammit. I mean, it's still awesome to trigger that animation right before an enemy dies by a well timed Lucifer explosion... but doing it as Vergil would be much better. And I want the exact same animation he does after beating Dante after Mission 7 in DMC3.
